I’ve watched streams, but I don’t think I could actually run one myself. I have a pretty bad anxiety about talking online or using webcams (my new computer doesn’t even have one), but I think we can manage something similar.

Would people like to do a chatroom for that weekend? We could all talk, chat, share stories and ideas and whatever else. Or does anyone else have ideas?

@birvan

Yeah, I think all three of the writers live in different timezones across the states, and our helper lives across the seas from us, so timing would be awful to manage. With a chatroom, any of us can pop in over the weekend to talk, and once I find a good weekend for it and actually prepare, I can be online whenever I’m not sleeping.

I actually have a few ways I imagine it! We have the initial layout from the first story of Brothers Apart:

The arrows and circles showing where Sam and Dean were standing on their initial first encounter, small escape paths and entrances for Sam marked at the sides.

Then we have the actual layout of the real Trails West, another good reference for the room:

April 16th excerpt:

Jacob looked up in awe. Dean’s boot alone would be impossible to see over. Hell, just the rubber sole was almost as high up as Jacob’s current stature. The towering, jean-clad leg above the boot stretched high overhead. Jacob could scarcely imagine what it’d look like to see Dean standing from a view near his feet. The thought almost gave him vertigo and Jacob had to stare at his knees for a few seconds to let the moment pass.

Unbothered by the size of the boots and the limb before him, Sam came right up to the heel and started the easy climb up to Dean’s knee. He scrambled up the towering leg, fingers easily finding purchase in the thick threads. Jacob was amazed by how quickly Sam climbed up that tower of denim. It was practically second nature to the guy after spending a year around humans. Jacob could even recall a time or two when Sam had climbed up his leg like that.

Blog Needs Content

neonthewrite:

Yes, I know things are pretty sparse around here lately. I’ve been keeping myself writing daily, however not all of it is stuff that ends up here. Most recently I worked on this story, a fun installment in the Food and Monsters series that I made as a fanfiction AU inspired by @nightmares06. However, bigger projects like that don’t end up on tumblr because … they’re just too big!

It does lead to an empty blog, though. No good.

So, I’m looking for advice on what to look into next, perhaps something that could end up here. It would be much appreciated if you could take the time to reply here or anon me your opinion or something.

Here are some of the things I was thinking of:

A)  Chase In Lilliput – an obvious choice would be to continue this little crack AU.

B)  Lore Bits – I have fun writing posts with snippets of my lore from various projects (usually Fairy Tales or the Muunfel Project).

C)  Taking more Prompts – I have some prompt lists saved in drafts I could post at any point. These usually give me something quick and short enough to post on tumblr.

D)  Excerpts – Something like what @brothersapart does, with snippets from what I’ve been working on lately. These come with the caveat, of course, that the finished project being excerpted might not post here, but rather on one of my other sites.

E)  Other – Any other suggestions?

New Chapter is up!

Nightmares06 made me do it!
They just had to write a
couple of lines in ‘Garlic and Cold Spots’, talking about dressing
Dean up as a dragon. Just *had* to do it. Sigh, welp, here’s Dean as
a dragon in Oscar’s hotel, The Knights Inn.
It takes place in
my story in chapter 31 for Dragon!Dean is Still Scared of Heights. So
Dean is 6 inches tall and injured. But this time, he doesn’t stay
asleep. Soon as Sam and Bobby drift off, he’s wide awake and
worrying. He decides to take a walk around the motel room to wear
himself out when he sees an impossibly small person slip into the
room through the heating vent and steals a couple of peanuts and
M&M’s from a bag of trail mix. Dean follows the mousy guy out and
gets stuck in the walls in a pile of plaster pinning him helplessly
down. He fears he’s going to die in there when suddenly there’s a
familiar face walking towards him with mousy guy in tow. It looks
like Sam but that’s impossible. The guy is 4 inches tall and 10 years
younger then he should be, and he doesn’t recognize his brother at
all.

April 15th excerpt:

He looked over and saw that Bowman was smiling faintly at him. “Oh, what? You’re just jealous you don’t have a portable Jacob to carry around,” he quipped, earning a tired snicker from the sprite.

“Oh, it’s really too bad we can’t make your picture. Rischa would just shriek if she saw this,” Bowman teased.

There’s a possibility we’ll see any of the supernatural characters appear in any of the stories at any time, but where and when is always a mystery.

I think it’s very likely this one will come about, with both brothers determined to track their father down after so long trapped in the motel. Jacob is just as determined to help them. No one should go for so long without contact with their family.
