February 5th excerpt:

Dean slipped in first, his hand on the hilt of his knife for security. Sam followed quickly after, letting the wallpaper fall back down as though the passageway didn’t exist.

Jacob stared at the spot they’d disappeared for several seconds. He could just barely make out where the wallpaper pulled away to admit them into the wall. And that was only because he’d just seen it happen moments ago.

February 4th excerpt:

As usual, Jacob’s prodigious size drew a few alarmed glances from the few patrons and waitstaff in the diner. He was used to this. He had been big for a while and he knew that it surprised people to see someone so big. He put on the least threatening demeanor he could manage when he smiled at the hostess, requesting a to-go menu.

He had to hold back a smirk as he found the cheeseburgers they had to offer on the menu she handed him. You people think I’m intimidating, he couldn’t help but think. It was with a self-deprecating kind of humor that he reminded himself of the nickname he’d earned from Dean.

February 3rd excerpt:

Sam charged, and this time Dean used his own smaller size to his advantage. Being the eldest, it smarted to have ended up the smaller of the two brothers, but it also meant he could dodge a lot faster than his bulky brother.

Dean dodged to the side, letting Sam blow past him. He lashed out with a foot, catching Sam’s arm with his hand and sending him to the ground. The end result was Dean holding Sam pinned to the ground, smirking at the annoyed hazel eyes below.

February 2nd excerpt:

The sharp sound of someone clearing his voice came from behind, and Dean twisted around in surprise. Sam was standing on the edge of the shelf with a disapproving frown on his face. A boot dangled from each hand.

“What are you, my mother?” Dean griped.

In The Darkness by The_Raconteur_24601

Something evil is afoot in a small rural town in Midwestern America, and it’s up to Sam and Dean to find out what. With the help of a small woman named Zepheera, they’ll do their best to save the town and Zepheera’s time-travelling alien friend from the greatest evil the Winchesters have ever faced.

This is a contest entry for nightmares06. It features characters from my Doctor Who/Borrowers crossover series ‘Borrowed Time (and Space)’ with a little tweak in Zepheera’s size to put her to Sam’s scale. This is not canon for BTAS and takes place sometime before Taken in Brothers Apart.

Nowhere Else to Turn by kimstaticchild

Reunited brothers Sam and Dean Winchester are still adjusting to life on the road together, with Sam being only 4 inches tall and having been living in hiding thanks to a witch’s curse.

On what begins as a nondescript night exploring a motel room, Sam has an encounter with Ziana, a confrontational borrower in the walls who in no way wants to deal with Sam, his strange background, and especially his giant of a brother. Unfortunately, she may not have a choice in the matter.

February 1st excerpt:

“Sam, what’s … what’s up,” he rasped, trying to wake as fast as he could. After the caution both small brothers had shown, he doubted Sam would walk right up to him like that without a good reason.

Or without Dean.

January 31st excerpt:

Sam gave a grunt as he pushed at the very edge of the massive door to maximize the torque, inordinately glad that the hinge wasn’t rusted at all. Dean dragged the whiskey behind himself, just as glad that he had extra strength at his disposal.

January 30th excerpt:

I should have left them at Bobby’s. I can’t find her trail anywhere. She vanished into thin air like she never existed a few towns out. Bobby’s helping me try and pick up her trail again, but so far nothing.

I’ll never forgive myself.

I’m sorry, Mary. I lost your baby boys.
