August 2nd excerpt

Jacob relinquished his death grip on the ropes and aimed the most powerful kick he could at Dean’s arm behind him. He knew very well how little impact his presence could have, and he couldn’t afford for Dean not to know he was there. “Quit for a second, I was almost done!”

By some stroke of luck, the blade hadn’t fallen to the ground when Dean tried to wrench his arm free. It was lodged in the rope Jacob was working on, only about halfway through and wedged among the tight coils. Jacob ignored the muscles clenching behind him and grabbed the small weapon again to renew his process of cutting Dean free.

February 20th excerpt:

As his two little brothers returned to safety, Dean shifted in place with a content mumble. He briefly reached across to itch at the arm they’d climbed up, rubbing the fabric where Sam and Jacob’s path had been. Then, he rested the hand close to the pocket, a thumb draped over the bottom. Letting out a deep sigh, he sank fully back into sleep.
