It would certainly be an option, but I find it more than likely that they just use Dean to improve Sam’s sense of balance. Walking along a finger is like walking along a balance beam, only the skin would shift under his feet, increasing the difficulty and helping him increase his skills. A golf ball might be a bit better than a ping pong ball, since it has more heft to it. A ping pong ball might go flying when he tried to get on.

Lord, he would drive everyone up the wall.
Since there’s no way he’d risk being maimed for life, he’d stay put– but not the way they hoped. This Dean has a Jacob around, and he’ll be bossing Jacob around just as much. He won’t be sitting around, waiting for things to come to him!
Sam would be driven up a wall, Jacob would have Dean likely in his hands much of the time to A) keep him from getting up and stalking off and B) to let Dean feel included, and Bobby’s just rolling his eyes going idjits.
Of course we all know if Sam was the one hurt Dean would insist he stay put and out of sight, so he doesn’t get hurt more.
Don’t ever leave Dean alone with his cast at any size.

Ah! We’ve never touched on what they really are, so we can’t say if they’re human or not, borrowers or not, or something in between. This question will have to wait for the future! The origin of the ‘littles’ will be revealed in a future Brothers Apart story.

Oh, I like this idea! If anyone wants to, send us in a scenario and the characters. As always with prompts, if we can come up with anything, we’ll write and post it for everyone to see! A bit of character swap to go around.

Dean would want to help Sam however he can! If he can’t get Sam to wake up, since it’s a lot harder to break through to someone while they’re stuck in a dream, he’d sit next to Sam’s head on the pillow and rub his forehead, telling Sam stories from their childhood and straying into his own life growing up on his own after the curse.

Ahhhh, we’re just as excited! It’s been so much fun plotting out a story with Sherlock Holmes and John Watson around for the ride (Protect John Watson 4ever, I just started watching the show).
@nightmares06 – I think the most fun part of BC has been the character dynamic between these four. Dean and Sherlock get off to such a great start, and John Watson is just the most cinnamon roll around. This group will be butting heads from the start, that’s for sure.
@borrowedtimeandspace – Giant John has always held a place in my heart. It was one of my favorite dynamics to read about when Sherlock gt was popular a few years ago. Being able to write not only him but giant Sherlock as well has been both nostalgic and an absolute joy, and Sam and Dean are fantastic characters to bounce these tol dorks off of.

It’s a book I’m writing about the character I designed growing up. She’s gone through a lot of changes throughout the years, including an rp with @bittykimmy where I was able to start refining her character.
It is not a g/t centric book the way the BA stories are, but there will be size differences in it at points. For anyone who wants to follow the progress as I write (which, admittedly, is slow going because of the time I spend at my job and writing BA stories, my personal addiction), be sure to visit @nightswritingcorner and look through the tag #night’s writing. Mostly I’ll be using the blog to also reblog writing advice to help my advance my skills. If I hope to turn writing into my future job, I’ll have to know what I’m doing.

:3 We’re just as excited for it! Soon it’ll be time to edit the story to get it ready to go!

He did have psychic visions in the Brothers Apart storyline, back at the beginning, but I’ve chosen to let them fade away in lieu of a different type of ability. So far, each victim of the curse exhibits their own particular knack. Sam can tell when someone’s looking at him, or searching for him. Dean can find whatever he needs. Jacob can lift many times his own weight. These begin at different ages for each character.
For the rest, there is a very specific plot that BA is following that will involve Yellow-eyes, Celeste, and John Winchester, and I can’t say much else or it’ll give away the story. Let’s just say that the demon hasn’t forgotten about Sam, and knows he’s out there.
