August 2nd excerpt:

The tines of the fork nudged at Sam’s arm, who barely even looked up at the threatening cutlery that could scoop him up into the air. “What, Dean?” he asked tiredly, a put-on air about him as he studiously focused on the shreds of hot dog and bread he had pushed into a facsimile of a hot dog on a bun.

“You gonna eat that?” Dean asked, jabbing his fork at the remainder of Sam’s portion of the meal.

May 24th excerpt:

Dean ignored the little squirms in his hand, much like he’d do if he was checking Sam for any broken bones just after a fall. “See?” he said softly to the kid as he worked his way over each rib and brushed against the skinny bare arms. “Nothin’ to it.” He searched those tiny eyes for any signs of pain and found none.

Sam slapped on some grape jelly to his sandwich and but both slices of bread together, eagerly biting down. “Isf hee okayff?” he asked, mouth full.

May 23rd excerpt:

Lightly, Dean brushed the wet cloth over the kid’s face and hair, getting it out of his face so he could see if there were any pained flinches and scrubbing the grime off his cheeks with a careful touch. “This shouldn’t hurt a bit,” Dean explained softly, discarding the washcloth for later and extending a finger, touching the kid’s ribs to see if Sam might have squeezed too hard when he’d picked the guy up. Next to him, Sam watched intently while he unwrapped the bread and started to dig out a glob of peanut butter that was bigger than the tiny kid they’d discovered.
