September 7th excerpt:

The coffee maker went off with a cheery ding that stood out against the somber mood that had fallen over the three at the table. Or, rather, two at the table, and one on it.

Dean didn’t bother getting out of his chair to get the coffee. He merely leaned back, precariously balanced for a few long seconds while he stretched his arm to snag the coffee pot. Sam found himself holding his breath until the chair legs thudded to the ground. He might not get hurt if Dean tumbled over, but it would be like living through an earthquake hit with his older brother as the epicenter.

September 6th excerpt:

“Don’t forget the sugar this time!” Sam called as Dean set up the coffee maker and got it started. He got another annoyed glance, but only moments later, the container of sugars and creamers was set down next to him.

“For you to ruin your coffee with again,” Dean muttered as he finally took a seat close to Sam, still on edge.

“It’s not like we’re sharing,” Sam said, letting Dean’s annoyed manner slide right off him. He doubted Jacob (or anyone else, really) was ready to deal with Dean in this mood, leaving Sam the only one who could handle the older hunter.

September 5th excerpt:

Dean immediately dropped down, pawing through the condiments in the kitchenette on a single-minded quest. “Is there any coffee? I haven’t had a drop since we started out, and I gotta tell ya, driving through the night is not my favorite way to spend time.”

“You do it all the time,” Sam said, faintly scolding his older brother.

Dean glanced up briefly, scowling at Sam. “You know, I could just hoard the coffee for myself,” he complained.

“Sure Dean, whatever you say.”

June 2nd excerpt:

Dean went over to the coffee pot in the kitchenette, getting out a mug. He kept Jacob in his hand while he poured himself a cup, sighing at the smell. “There’s nothin’ like a good cup of joe in the morning,” he said, half to himself and half to the kid that was hanging out in his fist. “I don’t know what I’d do without it.”

He brought the cup over to the table and set it down. “Almost forgot.” He grabbed the bottlecap from the nightstand. “Can’t leave you out, now, can I?”

June 1st excerpt:

The coffee was almost done when he got back and he smiled in triumph. It wouldn’t get cold on him.

Dean went over to the nightstand to get Jacob up for the day. “Wakey, wakey! Eggs and bakey!” With a grin, he opened up the drawer and peered in to search for where the kid was sleeping. His eyes softened a little when he saw the guy curled up in the flannel shirt. It was almost bunched right over his head for sleep.

He reached in, nudging the shirt off of the tiny form and scooping him up into a loose fist again. “C’mon, half-pint. Time for some coffee.”

May 2nd excerpt:

Sam groaned as he pushed the hair out of his face. “What the hell,” he croaked. As his vision cleared up, he scrambled to his feet in surprise at his surroundings.

Everything. Was. His size.

And beyond all that, Jacob was standing in a crib.

“I think I need coffee,” Sam groaned. He buried his head in his hands for a minute. “Jacob, that really you there?” he mumbled around his fingers.

November 23rd excerpt:

Sam leaned over the bottlecap again to avoid looking at Sherlock, unable to completely hide that the detective continued to unnerve him compared to John. He tilted his cup so the drop of dark coffee splashed into the milky brown color. Dean made a face at him as he pulled over the cube of sugar, contemplating just how much to add to the bitter liquid.

“Now you’re just ruining it,” Dean complained as Sam tipped the entire cube into the cap.

November 22nd excerpt:

Dean wrinkled his nose. “The only way to drink coffee is black,” he declared, remembering the times he’d made coffee for his dad while he was growing up. Or ordered it at a coffee shop. There was nothing like the bitter flavor of the black brew to wake someone up.

Sam glanced between Dean and John, realizing he didn’t have an answer for them. “Sugar…?” he said, more question than answer.

“Yeah, sure,” John chuckled at Dean’s unexpectedly strong opinions about coffee. He supposed it made sense, he was a few years older than Sam. Plenty of opportunity to garner a taste for the stuff.

Oh, sorry! I’ve even watched multiple Sherlock Holmes’ shows and movies, it just fled my mind on Sunday when I was taking care of the influx of guesses.

The crossover will be with Supernatural and BBC Sherlock!

Dean will certainly be upset about coffee, but he’s lucky that this Sherlock, at least, enjoys a good cup of coffee and not just tea and biscuits.

Hello! Borrowedtimeandspace here! John would definitely dote on the bitty bros any chance he gets. It might take him a while to graduate to Christmas sweater level, but he’d be more than willing to help make the brothers more comfortable any way he can!

One would hope that they get coffee if they’re going to be road tripping with Jacob to find their father! (Along with breakfast. Feed them, Jake. They haven’t eaten well in years.)

Sam would try the coffee, wrinkle his nose and dump cream and sugar into it until it almost doesn’t taste like coffee. Dean would scoff at this, drink it black and call it the nectar of the gods, and give Jacob The Look. Don’t you fuckin’ dare put me back in that coffee pot ever again
