Dean stared blankly down at the pot of water on the stove, watching the steam drift upwards as it reached boiling point. He dropped in the hot dogs, probably more than Bobby wanted them to take, but they hadn’t visited for over a month, not to mention just finishing a hard case, so…
All but forgotten in Dean’s pocket, Logan waited for someone to notice the irony in the room. While he was trapped and barely allowed a shard of a pretzel, Sam was free to roam. He would even get to have some of the warm food with the others, despite being bug-sized. He should be in as much danger as Logan, but he wasn’t.
Wondering what made Sam so special wouldn’t get him free, so Logan pushed the thoughts aside. He kicked at Dean once more before turning to try opening the pocket again.
Bobby offered Sam a hand. He was less practiced than Dean, and quickly lowered the younger Winchester down before his nerves with the kid became overly obvious. Sam stepped to the table, only pausing once to see what had changed since the last time he’d been around.
“Is there a case?” Sam asked curiously as he stepped over the newspaper Bobby had left to the side, out of the way of his earlier meal.
“Is that so?” Dean didn’t even have to think as he lifted his hand with Logan inside, dropping the hunter in his chest pocket and buttoning it up. “I can’t say no to that.”
Logan landed in a heap at the bottom of the pocket. At first, he had no idea where he’d landed. Everything around him was thick cloth and dim lighting, and he struggled to right himself. There was no surface below for leverage, and when he braced a hand on one side, he flinched back.
A heartbeat thudded away practically right next to him, and Logan understood where he was.
Footsteps came from the hall, and Dean covered Logan with a hand, curling his fingers around the other man as Bobby came back in. Sam was no longer wearing his tan jacket, perched on Bobby’s shoulder with nothing more than his grey t-shirt, jeans and satchel.
“Got the blood out,” Bobby said gruffly. “That’ll just be drying until the morning.”
“Bobby said he’s got some food we can heat up!” Sam called out from his place.
Fanart for ‘brothers adopted’ @nightmares06@brothersapart@neonthewrite
I loved the part in ‘brothers adopted’ where dean and sam reunite and jacob is let free from the vase (poor kid). But it was so funny when sam basically scolded dean for taking jacobs stuff lol.
Heres some fanart for that chapter! Idk if this is exactly what sam said, but i figured its close enough (and besides, i have a bad memory lol).
Sam and dean watch T2.
Brothers apart
The idea of These two watching movies together has always made me smile lol, and i bet dean would totally make sam watch the terminator with him the second he got the chance
(T2 is my favorite tho) @brothersapart@nightmares06 fanart for brothers apart
Looking back at the nightstand, Jacob glanced over the surface skeptically. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d opted for something like that over an actual bed. Beds were huge fields of cloth and shaky terrain for him now. The chance of someone not noticing him there had gone way up.
“Nightstand oughta be fine,” he said mulishly. “So long as you don’t set the alarm or something. One of my friends turned on a radio while I was right next to the speaker and that sucked.”
