Phoenix: Do the wood sprites farm amy?
Neon: Wood sprites don’t really farm in the sense that we know it. They find the mushrooms where they are and tend to them and harvest some. Same with bees and honey … they don’t try to set up hives for them anywhere, they just take a little from existing ones.
TorchMLP: So for the editing process, how many times do you usually go over a story when editing, and how many times do you usually edit when beta’ing
nightmares06: One main time editing, but I glance at chapters a lot and make small changes
nightmares06: The horror story got three or four editing rounds
TorchMLP: do the burrowers plant any crops at all, or just rely on foraging for their plant needs?
nightmares06: The guys in the burrow make sure seeds go back into the ground, but they don’t farm or anything. Others farther out in the wilderness would, especially mushroom farms
TorchMLP: oh man, I know a lot of people who would be jealous of a mushroom farm
TorchMLP: those are hard to grow
TorchMLP: So do any Borrowers try to use softer metals for anything? Like aluminum cans are easy to melt and shape into something else, and are also pretty sharp
nightmares06: The ones in the motels or houses wouldn’t, but they’d try something like this in the burrow where they have a fire pit going
nightmares06: And all that scrap metal from Bobby

Phoenix: Are there any sprites who can commune with ore?
Neon: Among the main types, not really. There’s not much to commune with in a rock. Fire sprites would be most likely to be able to detect the different impurities, though. Their whole domain is difference and change.
Phoenix: If there were ore sprites, I bet they’d find the curse “Pray to a rock!” to be offensive…
Neon: Lol well it’s meant to be offensive, technically
Phoenix: Okay, yes, but a different kind of offensive.
TorchMLP: Where do sprites get their metal, and how do they smelt it?
Neon: A lot of the metal the sprites have was found a while ago, as they don’t often go looking, but even a little crumb of ore is a decent amount for them when they do find it. Metallurgy is a bit rare, though, since it requires so much heat and wood sprites are wary of fire. Someone really skilled at that particular Prayer can pray enough heat into living wood, but they’re more likely to just use coals, very carefully, and outside the village main. Buckets of water on hand.
TorchMLP: I’m curious if metallurgy is rare have they figured out how to temper their metal and create pig iron or steel at all? Maybe iron is rare in their area?
Phoenix: They were very impressed by Sam’s silver knife.
Neon: They don’t really have much concept for alloys, no xD metal is metal, and there’s no one who really knows why one sword might happen to be sturdier than another
Neon: Can’t commune with ore like they can with trees. Metal is a mystery ~~~
Indigo Masqurade97: Okay, I got a question for Neon about their sad Oscar AU (which is fudged and evil, but I still love it!). From what I’ve read it looks like Oscar is in London. Is this Oscar part of the Brothers Consulted AU, and Sherlock and/or Dean are gonna save the smol? That would be awesome!!
