It is definitely a crossover with a different, preexisting canon! In fact, though it is not @borrowedtimeandspace‘s special, she has actually written these characters before on her blog, and that served as the inspiration to start this new story.

After they’re sold as kids and shipped overseas, Dean manages to get his hands on a paperclip and they escape their captors. Sadly, with no way back home.

Unfortunately for the brothers, John Winchester believes them dead and is unlikely to appear in this AU, and Castiel will not be there to save them.

The brothers do finagle an escape (don’t leave a paperclip close to Dean Winchester, under four inches tall or not), but after they were trapped in cages and treated like pets, they aren’t about to try and face any more humans to ask for help back to the states, and they are in no position to find their way to an airplane or boat.

This is the backstory for Sam and Dean. They were captured as children, and much the same as in Taken, their captors decided to sell them off. In this story, we’ll see a little more of the other end of that deal.
Now all we need is their current circumstances and everyone wins a sneak peek! The story will start when they’re both adults, much like in Brothers Apart or Brothers Lost.
