July 4th excerpt:

“Nate… and Stan,” Dean repeated, recalling their introductions from before. He scrunched up his face. “Nathan and Stanley?” was next, wondering if he was to call them by their full names.

Stan’s brow jumped up and his attention turned from his phone to Dean. He couldn’t help a small chuckle to himself, he hadn’t been called ‘Stanley’ since he was little.

“Just Stan is fine by me,” he assured Dean. “No one really calls me Stanley. Pretty sure Nate goes by both, though, whatever you feel like calling him. He won’t mind either way.”

June 4th excerpt:

“So, er, what’s your name?” Stan asked, reluctant to call him by a name on a tank. “I’m Stan.”

“Oh, um,” Dean hadn’t expected this question from Stan. His name– most of his name– was on the side of the cage he was in when they first met. Stan could use it, he could decide to change it, and instead he was asking Dean.

Maybe he just wanted to hear Dean say it?

With an internal shrug of what can you do? Dean tilted his head back to meet Stan’s gaze. “Dean Win– Dean Wire.”

May 28th excerpt:

“Well, my name’s Sam,” Sam introduced. “Do you have a name?”

Nerves aside, Jacob gathered enough defiance to cross his arms. Closed to conversation, he wasn’t going to treat this as anything but what it was. Sam might have captured Jacob for a stupid mistake, but he wasn’t going to get to anyone else. Jacob took a steadying breath to try to hide his nerves under a giant’s gaze.

“Holding out on me?“ Sam was undeterred by the setback. "Guess that means we’ll be doing this the hard way. Your loss.”

January 14th excerpt:

“Baker,” Stan replied suddenly, looking up at Sam with glistening green eyes. Something deep in the pit of his chest felt warmer with this new knowledge, like a part of him that was lost was finding its way back. “My last name is Baker.”

Sam had a slowly growing smile on his face at Stan’s triumph. “Good to meet you officially, Stan Baker,” he said. “I’m Sam Winchester and that’s Dean Winchester.”

I like to think that he would definitely date her. Those two, as tragic as the story ended up, were meant for each other. And once he’d been with her for a bit, before they moved in together, Sam would bring the idea up to Dean, knowing it’s not his place to decide.

Dean would be thrilled for the chance to get to know the woman his brother loves, even with all the teasing remarks to both of them.

Hello from CoAdmin PL1

Hello, BA readers. I thought I’d go ahead and say hello myself, after such a lovely introduction by nightmares. I am PL1, though you’ve seen the other few names that’ll work just fine, too. I’m very happy to be a part of the team for Brothers Apart and the related AUs, whether it be writing collabs and contributing to the stories myself or beta reading and editing.

I especially want to thank people again for the response to Bowman showing up in the first chapter of A Lich of Sense. It’s great to see people are already excited! I know I had a lot of fun writing him opposite the Winchester bros.

Like nightmares06 said, if you have any questions about my OCs (including Oscar), you can feel free to ask about them/prompt about them either in the prompts here or over on my writing blog. I’ll do my best to answer them!

Oh, and by the way. You’ll notice, as the story unfolds, that Bowman can be a sassy little guy. Fair warning, I am his mommy and he has to get it from somewhere. 😉 I may only pack salt rounds but for the most part I’m harmless.
