August 28th excerpt:

“Sam, you comin’?!” Dean called.

“Just a second!”

Dean impatiently waited by the exit, tapping a boot. “If you didn’t have so much hair, this wouldn’t be such a project!” he called again.

When the 2 regular Winchesters and giant Jacob arrive at the Lounge (that is going to be entertaining), will the others start bombarding questions on how Dean managed to save Sam, and himself, from the witch? I can already imagine the confusion

Lol!

In the actual story they might not. Part of the ‘protective’ enchantment over the place is everyone can sense certain details about the others, so they automatically know which Sam is their Sam or that this Dean is actually Dean.

(That way none of the Deans tries shooting up the place when he finds it full of ten other hims)

But it would be pretty funny to find themselves beset by a bunch of guys wondering how the hell, when the truth is they just never encountered Celeste or stayed at that motel!

I was wondering, how do you think that Dean’s big brother instincts change from the show to each of his interactions with the different littles or when he’s a little himself? (Maybe not change so much as change how their expressed…)

It all depends on the little in question!

As far is Sam is concerned, he is ultra protective, but the first thing Sam will do is scold him for not giving him space or independence. Dean tends to take stuff like that to heart, so he’ll lay off (a little), and Sam won’t feel so stifled.

Of course, if you don’t tell Dean right off, he tends to get in habits, and might end up just casually picking you up and taking you wherever he is, as Jacob can well attest to in certain future AUs. Sam would be the first to tell him he shouldn’t let Dean get set in his ways!

As a little himself, he’s an incredibly fussy guy. He’ll lecture Sam for days if he gets himself picked on at school, and when Sam’s a smol Dean does his best to keep him away from danger. It’s a lot harder for the little guy, but he tries!

August 27th excerpt:

John started with the bacon, setting a small pan on the stovetop and placing on it two strips once it was hot. He almost put more on in consideration of his guests, but then he remembered that their portions would amount to crumbs compared to his own. He wouldn’t miss anything he took from his own meal if he gave it to the brothers.

While those sizzled in the background, John cracked a couple of eggs into a bowl and started mixing them up with a fork, meandering back to check on Sam. “Found ya some cherry tomatoes,” he reported warmly.

Sam brightened up, distracted from his wanderings on the table. “I love those!”

August 26th excerpt:

“How old are you, Sam?” John asked while he looked around for something to continue Sam’s path. With the kid so open with him, he allowed himself to indulge in the curious questions he hadn’t had time to ask the night before.

“Ten,” Sam answered offhandedly, distracted by his new surroundings. Then, corrected it to “Ten and a half.”

August 25th excerpt:

Turning back to the nightstand, John’s heart gave a little stutter to see Sam so close to the edge of the nightstand. “You okay?” he blinked, not quite yet putting two and two together.

Sam’s lips turned down into a frown. “I can’t follow you,” he said disconsolately, rubbing the sole of his boot over a mark on the nightstand’s surface. It was wider than his boot, but so relatively small to everything else.

August 24th excerpt:

Sam yawned, finally having pulled himself up from the corner of the pocket. “It’ll be nice to hit the sack,” he said tiredly. “I’m not used to this yet.”

“We’ve been hunting for ages, Sammy!”

Sam shoved back at Dean. “I’m used to sleeping during the day,” he protested, ears flaming.

How about an au in which both Winchesters are cursed and separated from each other (one stays in Trials West and the other in England or something of the sorts) and some how end up bumping in to each other in the future, and each one has a companion (Jacob/ Sherlock& Jhon) and there are both looking for each other, but when they bump into each other, they don’t realize there are brothers at first, because neither of them knows the other brother is cursed. You’re stories are amazing!

Thank you so much! The stories are so fun to write and discuss!

Let’s see–

It would be interesting to see the brothers separated like that, but so far we haven’t found a way to pull it off where they’re both cursed and separated (since the stories with Jacob and then the stories with Sherlock are both with different writers, it would be a lot of coordinating with three writers instead of our normal two).

Somehow, they’d probably end up siccing their giant on the other’s giant, and it would all fall apart in a spectacular fashion. As usual.

Your littles are at 1:18 scale. Dean, Sam, and mini Stan are watching an adaptation of The Borrowers set at 1:14 scale. The original Borrowers book sets them at 1:12. It just amuses me how many scales are involved right now. (my younger sibs and I just watched that adaptation of The Borrowers tonight and the scale was mentioned in the special features. The books scale I worked out when I first read them, using the fact that Pod is 6″ tall.)

Scales are fun to play around with! Though I do prefer the smaller scales than the original Borrowers stories have. They’re a little big for me in those stories.

(BA smols are at a 1:19 scale)

Dean would be pretty amused to see Stan next to Pod. He’s so much teenier!

How do the interactions differ between smol Sam/human Dean and smol Dean/human Sam?

Starting with smol Sam and human Dean, Dean tends to be grabby but not casual, he’ll pick Sam up but only if it’s necessary. He’s more likely to let Sam get up on his own and tries to give him complete independence. Sam occasionally bosses Dean around, but it’s not often and he mostly leaves Dean to it.

With smol Dean and human Sam, the interactions are much more casual. Sam will poke and nudge, pluck Dean up and plop him on his shoulder. Dean will get used to getting moved around, and scolds Sam if he was busy. Dean will also be extremely bossy, making sure his giant little brother knows just who’s in charge, no matter how often Sam teases him by picking him right up in the middle of a tirade.

They’re an interesting crew, to be sure.
