September 11th excerpt:

Before they reached the school, Dean paused and knelt down next to Sam.

“Be careful today,” he warned in a low voice, sliding Sam’s backpack off and handing it over. “If anything happens and you need me, I’m not far.”

“I’ll be fine,” Sam insisted.

Dean huffed. “For once you’re not the one I’m worried about.”

Yep, Dean will certainly got to school with Sam!

He might not at first, especially since Sam was a few years behind him in classes. John will want to keep Dean safe until they can get him cured, away from other grabby kids.

As Sam grows up and it starts to look bleak for Dean’s future as a regular-sized guy, Sam will convince him to come to school and keep his mind occupied instead of staying in the room and reading the same book on breaking curses. It’ll be healthier for Dean, and as Sam hits his growth spurt and no longer gets picked on by bullies (something he’ll avoid mentioning to Dean until Dean sees him with a black eye), he’ll be able to bring Dean safely with him.

Dean will complain, naturally. Still stuck with schoolwork.

I’ll be writing more with these two, and we’ve already mused about Oscar’s reaction to this size-swapped pair, so this may be seen in the future, either as a full story or prompts!

These two brothers will likely butt heads about the rabbit food from time to time, and Sam can’t force Dean to eat like he does, so one way or the other, Dean will find a way to get his bacon cheeseburger and pie.

It’s either school or staying in the room on his own (or with dad), so there’s a good chance Dean will be off to school.

August 25th excerpt:

“Class, say hello to Dean Winchester, our new student at school.”

“Hello, Dean.”

The mumbled response to the teacher’s introduction left much to be desired, but it was more than Dean had received in other places. He stood at the front of the class, his hands shoved in his pockets and his shoulders slouched. As the last of the words tapered off, Dean gave a jerky half-wave, doing his best to avoid catching anyone’s gaze.
