June 14th excerpt:

John gave a light groan, feeling a kink in his neck coming on as he lifted his head a bit to blink the blurriness from his eyes and focus on the figures standing by the books.

“Hey,” he whispered as he rubbed at his eyes. He glanced at his watch, then offered a tired but warm smile. “Bit early to be up. Everything okay?”

He kept his tone light and conversational, not wanting either of them to feel put on the spot. John wasn’t interrogating them, just checking up in case they needed something.

January 12th excerpt:

John stiffened when Dean started climbing on him. That was a new one, and he couldn’t help but stare for a moment while Dean ran across his thigh, seemingly intent on getting up on his own.

December 16th excerpt:

Leaning on the slight incline of John’s fingers, some of which outsized him in length, Dean had never looked smaller and more vulnerable.

This was further accentuated when a longer, paler finger came from behind John to poke at Dean’s shoulder, flipping the tiny person onto his back.

“Stop that!” John hissed, slapping Sherlock’s hand out of the way. The hand supporting Dean wavered ever so slightly, causing his head to loll to the other side.

December 3rd excerpt:

“Ooh, nice one!” John snickered, his foul mood lightened in the presence of the Winchesters. Even when they were bickering or pounding each other into the floor, they both had a certain charm that was almost guaranteed to lift John’s spirits.

November 27th excerpt:

“Do you have any idea where you’re going?” Sherlock griped as Dean directed him across the street. Knowing every road and back-alley in London was only so much help when Sherlock was being led by a tiny man on his shoulder who hadn’t set foot outside in over a decade.

Dean rolled his eyes. “No,” he said pointedly. “The only times I’ve been outside in London, I’ve either been on your shoulder or in a cage.

November 22nd excerpt:

Dean wrinkled his nose. “The only way to drink coffee is black,” he declared, remembering the times he’d made coffee for his dad while he was growing up. Or ordered it at a coffee shop. There was nothing like the bitter flavor of the black brew to wake someone up.

Sam glanced between Dean and John, realizing he didn’t have an answer for them. “Sugar…?” he said, more question than answer.

“Yeah, sure,” John chuckled at Dean’s unexpectedly strong opinions about coffee. He supposed it made sense, he was a few years older than Sam. Plenty of opportunity to garner a taste for the stuff.

October 25th excerpt:

John quirked an eyebrow at the strange note, glancing at Sherlock’s deep frown. “Morning puzzle, then?” he quipped.

“It means something,” the detective surmised, pressing his hands into a posture of prayer. “They’re trying to communicate.”

“Whatever you say, Spock,” mumbled John, partaking in their landlady’s kind treat.

October 19th excerpt:

“Boring,” Sherlock answered simply, digging through a pile of discarded newspapers for the bow for his instrument.

John slumped into his chair, bordering on defeat. “Explain to me how you found every single one of those cases boring.”

“Explain to me,” shot back the detective, standing up straight, “how anything could be interesting after what we discovered.”

XD That about sums up how it all begins. Tiny people exist? How is this possible, where did they come from, why are they in his flat, are they American?

Once the excerpts for the current story are finished, we’ll have story excerpts from Brothers Consulted, so stay tuned! >w> Meanwhile, I’m gonna go and watch the show because I am behind the times, and only started watching this weekend! I just finished the first episode of series 2. Hopefully I have time to watch more this week.
