January 7th excerpt:

Sam reached forward, nudging the little shirt Stan had shaken out from its little clump. The little guy gave the tiniest of flinches, broken out of his retrospective state, and glanced up at Sam. “You can put this back on,” he said, keeping his voice soft, the way he treated the more traumatized victims they ran into. Stan nodded and did just that, giving a slight wince when his arms were raised above shoulder level.

May 30th excerpt:

It only took Dean a moment to find a good shirt for his plans. The warm blue flannel would be perfect as a bed. He stood back up from his stooped position, giving his arms a stretch. His back cracked, almost like it was lecturing him about binge watching TV.

He rubbed his hair as he walked back over to the nightstand, his eyes slowly trailing up to where he’d left Jacob. “Hope you don’t mind a shirt, I’m a little short of beds made for Tink–”

His voice cut off when he realized Jacob wasn’t standing where he’d left him. Dean’s heart froze and he instantly stared down at the ground to make sure the floor was clear. “Jacob? Where are you?”

November 28th excerpt:

Keeping himself down below the level of the collar, Sam carefully put one foot in front of the other. The neckline of the shirt John was wearing under the jacket gave him a place to plant his boots, and all he had to do was not slip down the edge of the cliff John’s back became. Sam’s pulse quickened. Just like at home, he encouraged himself, calling to mind all the daredevil stunts he’d pulled on Dean over and over again.

After he reached the halfway point, Sam pushed himself off harder, clambering at last to John’s other shoulder.

Not yet. Not because he won’t or doesn’t want to, but after spending thirteen years apart, it took them a while to get used to each other. Dean was afraid something like that would push his brother away. Right when they were finally getting used to each other, Taken happened, and so a long time was spent recovering.

Of course, now things are going back to normal and anything’s possible…
