October 13th excerpt:

Dean arched an eyebrow at his younger brother. “Gonna work on the car,” he explained. “Think you can hold down the fort for me?”

May 15th excerpt:

With his offered food carefully held in his palm, John entered his room once again. His steps were slow and smooth as he continued to heed Dean’s request. He resolutely kept to that pace when he transferred the fragment of paper plate to a relatively flat part of the handkerchief near Dean.

“Anything else you need, don’t hesitate to ask,” said John once the food was in place, backing away from the desk to finally remove his coat. In all the excitement, he hadn’t taken the time until now.
