Thank you for your concern about how we catalogue our posts, but that is simply how we track certain excerpts. It is not that we care too little, it is that we care too deep about organization. OCD. You know how it is.
Have a nice day!

Why do you feel the need to police the lettuce tag.
There is lettuce in the post, there is a tag for lettuce.
Lettuce be.
having somone eating lettuce in your ficlet isnt enough to warrant posting in the lettuce tag imo. like you do you. i cant stop you but just be considerate about cluttering tags is what im saying.
Listen
Tags are for inner organization on a blog and if we choose to organize our blog by tagging what’s in an excerpt… It’s not meant as an affront on the lettuce fandom (???).
Besides. It was one post. The lettuce tag is full of food posts without lettuce in em.
We’re not sinking the titanic here. Lettuce be friends, not enemies. We will keep organizing how we need, but if our posts don’t have lettuce or lettuce discourse, we can surely leaf them out of your tag.

May 19th excerpt:
A piece of shredded lettuce as long as his arm landed within an inch of Jacob when Dean took a particularly large bite, and Jacob flinched, coming right out of his thoughts. He shot a flat look upwards as an automatic reaction, but quickly returned to focusing on his food. At least nothing had actually landed on him.
When he’d wolfed down a decent portion of the food Dean gave him, Jacob set the remainder aside and picked up the bottle cap again. Giving it one more try, he found that it had settled enough for him to drink it without the carbonation posing a problem.
