August 7th excerpt:

“She’s gonna get seen! ” Stan hissed, clutching at his hair in distress. His nerves were strung taut and tightened further the longer Arrietty spent in the open, nowhere near cover. All the boy would have to do was glance over, and she’d be noticed.

Sure enough, as Arrietty was getting up to leave, she knocked over an action figure, and it clattered to the floor far below. Stan couldn’t hold on a gasp or keep himself from backing up an inch or two as the human on the screen was alert and after the borrower in his room instantly.

It amuses me every time! Sam and Dean will take good care of the lil nerd!

Bonus excerpt:

Instinctively putting out a hand to reassure Stan, Dean lightly touched the kid’s back, curling his hand around him for a bit of shelter. “Don’t worry, it’s not real,” he reminded him. He didn’t want the movie night to worry the kid into losing hair over it. “I’m sure she’ll figure a way out.”

“Watch!” Sam interrupted, right as the kid slammed a container over the girl’s head.

Stan gave another gasp, scooting closer to Dean’s curled fingers to peek through them. Though he was still highly concerned for Arrietty, Dean’s comforting gesture helped separate him from the movie just enough.

So I know that you posted a sneak peek a week or so ago where Dean was able to be Sam’s size for a little bit (I’m assuming from the BA AU). I was wondering if there was going to be another human around so he could get the full Little experience. (I was thinking Jacob or Bobby! Especially because Sam could show him around the walls and his room at Bobby’s.)

(I believe the sneak peek we’re talking about is this one, if anyone missed it)

The story involved is certainly a convoluted one, but fear not! There will be interactions with regular-sized people for our poor smol Dean! There’s just too much material for our poor hunters, so size shenanigans will be happening to them (in multiple AUs…)

Take a peek at this teeny bit from where Dean gets a glance at some of Sam’s normal world!

For a moment, the importance of Jacob opening his car didn’t occur to Dean. Then, he remembered what he had in his pocket and he gave Sam and Jacob a flat look, pulling out his keys.

“Really?” Dean asked as he jingled them. “You… broke… into… my car.”

Sam affected an innocent look. “It’s my car, too!” he said, his hands up in surrender. “I just… got Jacob in using the panic room. And you’re the one that taught me how to hotwire!”

“I didn’t mean hotwire the Impala!

August 6th excerpt:

Stan did pipe up with a comment after a few minutes, tilting his head when he noticed a word the borrowers in the movie kept saying. “ ‘Beans’…?” he wondered aloud. “Oh, human beings, they mean,” he nodded, scrunching his nose in displeasure and confusion. “No one’s called them ‘beans’ in ages.”

Dean smirked. “Well, that’s good,” he said lazily, nudging Stan in the side with a finger. “I think ‘bean’ fits you better than it fits us…” His finger moved up to mess Stan’s hair yet again before backing off.

August 5th excerpt:

“Kind of,” Stan replied quietly. There were plenty of shots in what little of the movie they’d seen so far to convey just how big the human family was. Lots of close-ups on enormous hands and angles that made the people seem distant yet towering. While none of the humans were aware of their smaller housemates, their dangers were that of an ignorant, unintentional manner.

Except for the boy setting traps.

“For humans, they do a good job of showing how things look to us,” he commented, relieved when it seemed that the danger was over for the moment.

In JIW, what do you think would have happened if Jacob had become smaller than his inch and a half size?

A lot of screaming.

In all seriousness … I think we’d see Sam and Bowman become even more protective of the little guy, trying to keep him shielded from the world that’s waaaay too big for him. Jacob, in the meantime, might go into adrenaline overdose or something, as that kind of scale gets really mind-boggling and terrifying.

There wouldn’t be any safe interaction with Dean anymore at all, and that would be sad. :c

August 4th excerpt:

“Is that what we look like to you?” Dean asked as he saw the perspective of the humans trying to get ice from the machine, very nearly knocking the kids out of the fridge door.

Stan gave a small jump as the question broke through the trance connecting him to the film. He spared the human a glance, still huge and looming even in his lowered position on the bed. His arms alone were thicker than Stan was tall, and that was just a fact of the enormity of humans.

So this isn’t an ask, but I currently work at a hotel at the front desk. People come to us all the time to ask for lost items. We’ve noticed a trend. If the object is lost outside (sidewalk, pool, etc.), it’s always able to be found and given back to the guest. HOWEVER, if it’s inside, it’s lost for good. I’m convinced that there are borrowers in my hotel!!

Awesome!

Those lil guys are everywhere, if you know what to look for!
