I just reactivated submissions… because that got turned off at some point? Tumblr wut u doin’
You know, a thought occure. Would Chuck appear in Brothers Apart?
He could!
I have no problem writing out Chuck, and I’ve always enjoyed his character. Scrawny, alcoholic dork. We just haven’t had any inspiration for him 😉 But as always, if anyone ever thinks of anything, we love hearing the ideas!
Wait how can Jacob lift 40x his body weight when he is only around 1/20 th of his original weight/height? Please check my math but wouldn’t this mean he would be able to lift a human easily?
Actually, only his height is a 20th of his original size. Thanks to the square-cube law, his weight is much, much less.
@torchmlp was nice enough to do the math out for us, and they were curious about cursed Jacob’s strength compared to his weight, so they did the formulas out.

We know now that Jacob weighs about as much as three crayons, and 40x his weight is equal to the vase he was lifting. Dean, of course, can lift this vase in one hand and trap Jacob in a fist without the kid’s knack doing him a bit of good.
If we took cursed Sam, cursed Dean and cursed Jacob, the difference in their strength would be that together, Sam and Dean at a regular height would be able to pick up the Impala and walk away with it, while Jacob by himself could do the same with even less effort. Just one kid. Walking away with that car (put it back!).
April 5th excerpt:
Jacob pushed a shaky hand against the fingertip messing with him, while the other brushed back through his bedraggled hair. His glare was tempered by the worry on his face when he looked up at the guy again. There was nothing familiar about the man, and nothing comforting in the fascinated gleam in those green eyes.
At least if he focused on that billboard-sized, smirking face, he didn’t have to think too hard about how high up he was from the ground. “W-what do you want?!” he demanded, voice still shaky with nerves.

Harnessed all that ‘GOTTA ART BEFORE I LEAVE’ energy and managed to finish coloring this guy! A commission for @nightmares06, who wanted a sketch I’d done last year around September to be polished.
Thank you for being so patient with me! I hope you like it, and if you want anything tweaked, lemme know!
Please, let Sam of Wellwood find his Dean soon! I’m hurting for him every time he has a memory of Dean…😭
He could definitely use his big brother! Especially after he found Dean missing in the Lounge when he and Bowman got admitted…
He’d especially love to introduce Dean to his sprite family and a few other friends he has in the forest!

April 4th excerpt:
In Jacob’s memory, very little could top the fearsome sight of a roadblock dropping out of the sky and hiding his goal from view. He almost didn’t scramble to a stop in time to avoid crashing right into the palm of a giant hand, one that came out of nowhere to keep him away from safety. He shuddered in fear even as it moved towards him and forced him to stumble backwards.
How many sprites (lets say the knights) would be necessary to win against the brothers in a tug of war? With and without use of wings allowed? Or just one?? (no point in mentioning Jacob, they’d probably need the whole village just to challenge his hand)
Well, lets see.
If smol Jacob can lift about 40x his weight, I’d say a regular borrower averages 10 to 15x. The brothers, being determined to keep physically fit, are likely around the 12 to 13x range. Once they get better nutrition, they’ll easily hit around 17 or 18x their weight in strength, if not more.
Really, the questions is: how long does it take the sprites to realize they should just start flying and lift the brothers off the ground so they can’t get any traction?
With wings, they’d just go with that route. Lift up the brothers while Jacob watches, unable to hide his snickering (Dean will get revenge on him, somehow). At least they’re good at dangling from a rope.
If they weren’t allowed to use wings except maybe to balance themselves, it probably wouldn’t take much for the brothers to knock several knights over, one by one. Sprites aren’t nearly as strong as one of the brothers. Poor guys would dig their heels in the best they could though. Then maybe have a few sparring matches with pine needle swords to make up for it.
(thanks to @torchmlp for the reference of smol Jacob’s strength)
They can carry their snacks without the weight hindering them too much, so they can keep themselves fueled even at night! (especially since they’re used to survive on lean times if they have to)
That’s right! Carrying a bag or two of food is no big deal when they’ve been scaling up and down furniture most of their lives.
Plus the sprites always underestimate how long a human can run on little food! They’re very used to getting energy from the sun, while the brothers will be shocked to learn that’s what the sprite wings are for.
Brothers Grounded can have Jacob take them to Wellswood!
They’re on their way!
“We should scout the area before it gets dark,” Dean said, getting up and stretching. “Make sure we find a safe home for the night.”
“Right,” Jacob muttered, a more subdued smile on his face. Regardless of how much trust he’d managed to bargain for himself, the two of them would need some space to themselves. Fascinated or not, he couldn’t deny them that.
“Just keep yourselves outta trouble,” he joked, reaching out to nudge Dean in the side before he was done stretching. As before, he drew his hand back quickly to avoid the retribution that he was sure the little guy would offer. “Gotta be ready for a bit of a hike tomorrow.”
Dean recoiled in surprise, his face falling into a flat expression at the playful gesture. He threw up his arms in frustration at how quick the teenager could move, faster than he could react to. “Well unless the village is a few feet in, I think you’ll be doin’ most of the hikin’, Godzilla,” he retorted in annoyance, his Midwestern drawl thickening.
Sam tried to hide a snicker behind a hand, entertained by the innocent interactions between the pair. He hadn’t been bored once since they met Jacob. “So how far in the forest is the village, anyway?” he asked.
This Jacob met Bowman before he met the shrunken bros and thus is perfectly comfortable poking Dean just like he does his winged friend. I love it.
XD Dean is so offended at how pokeable he is. He was trying to stretch, ffs.
