Who else is ready to jump in the hole behind Jacob? I know we are!
No worries! We try to be as transparent as possible, and it’s great to have new readers visiting! Welcome!
I do recommend a peek at the FAQ (mobile-friendly version), just because it has some other things we get asked quite often all detailed out.
Excerpts are posted once a day, usually at 10am est, and showcase little sneak peeks that come from what we’re working on currently. Often these stories won’t be posted for some time, but it lets everyone see what we’re actively working on.
The second tag in the post shows what story they’re from. For instance, currently #fs is posting.
We don’t announce what the story names are, but instead allow people to guess the name of the story, and if they get it right, we will put up a longer sneak peek at that story for everyone to enjoy. No one has guessed fs yet, but a list of the guessed names is in the FAQ for all to see, and their sneak peeks are in the Sneak Peek page (mobile-friendly version).
The second excerpt that posts everyday, at 10pm est, is actually the excerpt that posted that day the previous year, and can be spotted by the tag #2016 excerpt redux.
The lightning bolt on their backs looks a lot like the Flash. Could it be… ?
Nice guess, but nope! We won’t be doing any crossovers with Marvel or DC, so any superheroes are out. The symbol on their backs is not a lightning bolt, but something very different, with some design help by @soluscheese in the great commission they did for us ❤
We’re actually surprised no one has guessed it yet, with all the hints we’ve given… Not a crossover with Dr Who, Stan Baker is in it, John Winchester and Bobby Singer are not…
Yeah… and it’s perfectly paced, tons of action (brief interludes of cutes at times), and going to keep people on their toes from start to finish, so prepare yourself for an influx of feels! Just remember some of our favorite excerpts for it…

September 10th excerpt:
Soon after stepping into the car and closing the door with a slam, Jacob realized that he didn’t have quite as much room as he usually did in his own car. He wasn’t crushed by any means, but his knees were cramped. He glanced around at the seat as they all got settled.
It was a bench seat. Jacob wasn’t moving unless Dean moved with him. I’ll just leave that as it is, then, he told himself.
September 9th excerpt:
“You’re giving everyone your pissy face,” Sam said under his breath, just loud enough for Dean to make out the words. He was still glowing from the awe he’d received from Jacob, able to feel the teenager’s eyes on him every step of the way while he climbed. Sam was impressed with himself for impressing the tallest person around. He didn’t want Dean scaring off Jacob.
Dean ignored Sam and stalked past Jacob. “We’re taking the Impala!” he said in annoyance. “I know the way.”
“… Alright,” Jacob replied. Dean’s actions caught him off guard a second time, blowing past him in his haste. He was glad Dean was so determined to get right to helping the sprites, and chose to think nothing of the attitude he was getting. Bowman had mentioned that Dean was an intense human, Jacob just hadn’t realized how intense.
It was a time of madness and insanity.
This does give me the chance to let you in on a fun fact about writing Jacob in Wonderland!
All those chapters, all that intensity, was condensed into just over one month of writing. Sleepless nights, stressful days at work, pent up frustration bubbling into our writing, it’s all there. Writing when we should be doing other things (ie. eating and shit), ignoring life obligations, it was a heady time for storywriting.
It was one of those things that once it started, had to be finished, and we weren’t resting until that time.
On the other hand, it took over a year to edit the thing, so there’s that.
First off, I’m the person that asked about Brothers Unexpected and Divided in the Lounge. Just FYI. Second off, this blog has single-handedly made me get a Tumblr. That’s a pretty big achievement. Please never stop, you’re a wonderful writer. On the edge of my seat for JiW!!
