But really, most low end motels aren’t going to offer different room styles to choose from. It’s often ‘take what you can get,’ and two queen-sized beds is the most common format found at motels. If you want a room with a single bed, you’ll find that most of them are going to be king sized, and you have to pay extra for that, something Dean’s not gonna do.
Plus, a part of him is always saving that second bed for the possibility that Sam will be able to use it one day. Picking rooms with a single bed feel like he’s giving up.
Saving people, solving crimes The flatmate business
Over a decade ago, a serious of unfortunate events led to the Winchesters, at only a few inches in height, being forcibly relocated to London. Now, they’ve adjusted to their size and found a new home to live in that just happens to be the same residence of a certain detective and his blogger…
It was on cases like this that Sherlock made use of every waking moment. In his mind palace, he could go back and scrutinize everything he knew, everything he learned that day, for anything he might have missed. This would continue deep into the wee hours of the morning until his body gave in and he slept for a few short hours.
He awoke scowling at the ceiling and, after reviewing the major points of the case once more in his head, stumbled out of bed in search of coffee. He had no sense of what time it was, only that he needed to get to work immediately. After coffee.
While he waited for the brew, he glanced at the kitchen table. It was covered in the discarded clippings, as well as yesterday’s paper, left open to the newest story on the case. He rolled his eyes as he remembered reading that particular article: no new details, just a bundle of sentiment displayed for the victims. Sherlock understood that deaths were tragic, but he argued that if they were going to talk about it, they could at least bring up something useful. John had given him quite the disdainful look for that suggestion, and evidently kept the article around anyway.
He blinked when he noticed something was off. A pen lay across the paper, one he was certain hadn’t been there the night before. He leaned in closer to find a small phrase circled within the article he’d so easily brushed off.
next of kin
His brow knit as he considered the inexplicably highlighted words. Had John done that? Sherlock had found lately that whenever he got stuck on a case, he’d eventually find some overlooked detail underlined or circled. If it was John, why didn’t he just come forward and say it?
The Study of the Fourbegins Wednesday, March 8th at 9pm!
Jacob nodded, still amazed at the volume of Dean’s voice. Just talking casually, and probably at a lower volume than usual, Dean was loud enough that Jacob could almost feel the floor vibrate under his shoes. It was amazing, but a little overwhelming. He knew he’d have to get over that, and soon, but damn. There wasn’t an instruction manual for being small.
The poll to decide the order of the next three stories that go up was one of the closest yet! There’s only a two vote difference between all three stories, but starting us off this coming Wednesday, we have…

Brothers Consulted starts us off with a bang, followed by…
Bothering Bowman
Bowman Leafwing would scoff at the idea of ‘giants’ out there in the forest, but after a run-in with Sam Winchester and his larger hunting buddies, he’ll have a hard time denying their existence.
At long last, the second story of Brothers Found will post! That means we’ll be one story closer to the horror story!
And last but not least (and never forgotten)….
Return to Oz
Oscar lost the only friends he’d ever found over a decade ago. He’s learned to survive on his own, brief reminders of Sam and Dean keeping him company along with the mice who share the walls with him.
Yet Sam and Dean, though they may have forgotten where he lives, out of the hundreds of motels they’ve been to, never forgot their Oz.
Didja think we’d leave him alone forever? But it looks like chance has conspired against Oscar once more, leaving him at the end of the posting schedule, waiting for his friends!
The third story of Brothers Together is coming!
Small sneak peek for Brothers Consulted coming tomorrow!
Once he was certain Sam wouldn’t be tossed off if he moved, Dean leaned in to peer into the sprite home through one of the windows. He instantly caught sight of Jacob, standing just barely taller than Bowman. The kid had backed away from the window, giving Dean the chance to see him from head to toe. It was unreal. Jacob was so small that he could barely catch sight of the tiny metallic zipper on the hoodie.
“Didn’t your parents tell you to take your vitamins?” Dean asked, joking to try and push through the complete weird of the situation. “Hey Jacob.”
I should probably put out a reminder that since night and neon are both ace, we don’t actually ship any of the ships from the show. You won’t find any Wincest, Destiel, Sastiel, Sabriel, ect. on this blog, though you’re free as always to interpret the stories as you will!
Rischa led him by the hand to the window, and indeed there was Dean, sauntering among the home trees with casual steps that Jacob knew were actually watched carefully. When visiting a village of people who considered four inches pretty tall, you had to be cautious.
And Jacob was understanding why. Perspective might as well have slapped him in the face. Even off the ground, seeing Dean at this scale was intimidating at first. Jacob knew he could trust the guy with his life without question, but there was a small spark in him that said big was danger. A simple glance at Dean was enough to see the power a human could hold over sprite-sized folk.
There’s all kinds of things they could make instruments out of, all they’re bound by is their imagination!
Drums can be formed out of animal hide like Walt makes (though it’s not something he’d do, at least. They gotta stay quiet at the motel). Small branches and sticks can be hollowed out into pipes, leaves can make noise all their own, hollow trees can form other styled drums, the list goes on!
