September 28th excerpt:

“Too bad you two are dustballs over there,” Dean pointed out ruefully, looking at the dust stains on his clean shirts. “I shoulda just dropped you in the sink before we left so my clothes had a chance at staying clean for more than a minute.” Jacob didn’t bother trying to hide it when he rolled his eyes. They’d gotten rid of most of the dust anyway.

Dean started up the car, hiding a smile so he could at least pretend at annoyance. Soft music started up as he shifted out of park, toned down so that the small passengers that were sitting next to him wouldn’t have their hearing hurt.

September 27th excerpt:

Jacob glanced up at the bench, though of course he couldn’t see their total pile of found cash from the floor. He knew it certainly felt like they’d combed every inch. It was amazing how much they’d managed to find. He grinned and looked over at Sam, knowing he probably wouldn’t chime in. Ever since they’d joined Dean in his traveling hunting profession, Sam had had a harder time than Jacob asking for things he liked or wanted.

Jacob was working on helping with that. After all, Dean was clearly willing to help them out, and a resource like that was rare to people like them. So he called up, “Sam wanted a bag of M&Ms, how about it?”

“H-hey!” Sam blurted. He elbowed Jacob in the side. “I never said that!”

The teeny little Jake in the horror story isn’t quite that small… his friends give him an estimated height of about an inch and a half, but they don’t have any rulers around to measure him by. Small enough to be a teddy bear to a man four inches tall (Sam’s claimed), yet still big enough to manage some interaction with Dean without any outside help, so long as the hunter is paying close attention.

September 26th excerpt:

Sam rolled his eyes. “I guess we can count it as a tie,” he said dryly. “I’ll let your awful aim slide just this once. But you might end up with Dean trying to teach you how to aim the next time he gets the chance. Since, y’know, you can’t hit the broadside of a barn and all that.”

The hunter out in the open shifted his position on the bench while Sam was talking. The boot closest to them scrapped along the floor, and this time when Dean’s hand came into view, he was clearly stretching to reach the wayward coin.

“Did one of you get into the whiskey before we got here?” came a curious tone. A finger caught the coin just at the edge, dragging it along the floor so he’d be able to reach it without having to get up.

I won’t be accepting any forms of payment for the book, since I’m against making money off my fanfiction, but I will accept art or story trades, so long as it doesn’t look like it was thrown together in five minutes. It must be worth me buying and shipping the book to you.

The stories or art trades can be based on any of the AUs within the entirety of the Brothers Apart verses, and we’re always coming up with new ones!

It is indeed!

It was presented as a prize for the contest for BA that ran early this year, and will be one of the prizes in future contests. (Contest posts)

Of course, not everyone likes to participate in contests, so if anyone ever wants to do a trade, feel free to message me! It will depend on finances at the time whether I accept the trade or not, but I know some of you out there would love to have a copy, and since it’s fanfiction it won’t ever be for sale and I’d love to help get it to you!

Nixie would be very curious about these earthbound sprites! They’re so very different than her and her sisters. There’s men, for one thing. They have babies, instead of being born from their element (I can imagine the confusion when an aeternum water sprite runs into an earthbound water sprite like kadmianika greyfin).

Earthbound sprites also have a better grasp on the language found on earth, as Nixie still resorts to her descriptions when she can’t find the right words for what she’s talking about. She’s an empath like Rischa, and would love to take the little sprite under her wings to teach her new ways of using that empathy. Though aeternum sprites lean towards the more controlling aspects of their powers, unlike the earthbound sprites.

Bowman and Nixie would be wary of each other. He’s a male sprite, and she’s got dragonfly wings instead of the butterfly fins of a water sprite! It’s needlessly confusing. Why the Aeternum sprites need to call themselves sprites would probably baffle Bowman. They’re hardly like the sprites he knows at all!

He’d also be very miffed to find out how fast they are. He worked hard to get his top speed, and they can go much faster thanks to their magic. It’s not fair!

September 25th excerpt:

The brothers both had their own ways of searching, and the room once more fell into a companionable quiet while everyone digested their food and relaxed. The case had them tense, and a moment to regroup in the safety of the room was welcome.

Sam stiffened, and then read over the passage on the screen. And again. He paced restlessly in front of the screen, sending a quick glance at Dean and glad his older brother’s knack only worked on where they were, and didn’t let him read minds.

Dean wasn’t going to like this.

nightswritingcorner:

Hello!

So, welcome to my writing blog! For those of you that don’t know me, my main blog is @nightmares06. I created this writing blog to have a place to keep all my reblogs for writing advice, and as I write my main story, the one I want to publish in the future, this is also a place I may have excerpts for it. Normally I write fanfiction, and my fanfiction blog can be found at @brothersapart for anyone interested in seeing my current writing level.

Let me know if you have any questions about me or my story, and I hope you have a fun ride!
