To take one line of thought, Sam can’t miss what he’s never had.

On the other hand, he’s also going to be a teenage guy, and if I know teenagers in general (and Sam in particular, as we saw the huge streak of independence he has in the show), he’s not going to want to be carried everywhere. He’s going to find a way around it, just like he did in Brothers Apart, and just like he does in Brothers Asunder.

September 11th excerpt:

“Just warn me before you plan any expeditions,” Jacob chimed in. He pictured one of the brothers starting a determined climb using his hair to hang on. If he didn’t see it coming, he might twitch from having hair yanked out, and then most likely griped at for moving. It was just one more thing about being a living taxicab.

I don’t think there’s much chance Sam will ever forget the trauma he went through with clowns @.@ The poor guy would not enjoy a case with giant clowns for sure. His canon version gets freaked out by clowns that are shorter than him, putting Sam in a room with a giant clown would be like putting me in a room with a giant spider. Panic forever. Dean, fix.

September 10th excerpt:

That was how they drove for a while, Jacob manning the wheel while they just… went. There was no destination in mind, and the plans were to stop and check out the papers every few towns to see if there was anything suspicious going on. If not, they’d head back out. If there was, it would be time to grab a room and set up home base.

Dean, for his part, was perched like a hawk on the edge of Jacob’s shoulder with one hand on the collar for balance. He would eagerly point out the exits he wanted Jacob to take, somehow managing to meander their way throughout the state in a somewhat straight line. Sam ignored most of that, relaxing in his own spot.

If I can come up with any, I’ll scratch them out! For the BA flashbacks, each one links to something specific for their adult counterparts. Even the most recent one, with Sam diving under the bed, links to a specific part of a future story.

If I manage to write anything down, you’ll see it here first!

September 9th excerpt:

“You’re just as welcome to come visit as the others are,” Mallory said warmly, ignoring the eyebrow Walt arched at that. Before her mind caught up with the action, she’d raised her arms up for a hug, just like she’d done with everyone else.

Jacob’s expression was akin to a deer caught in headlights. His eyes were focused on the minuscule woman at the edge of the nightstand, arms outstretched. She was barely three inches tall, making her smaller than Jacob’s fingers, and she looked extra small standing near an alarm clock and a TV remote that both dwarfed her.

And she was expecting a hug.

Oh. Crap.

*Looks at messages*

I promise I’ll get to the messages we got this week! Normally I’d already have gotten to the ones that have to do with recent posts, but work is kicking my ass and I’ve mostly just collapsed, hard, when I get home. But the messages give me something to smile about at work, and they’re the best part of my day so never worry about sending them! I can’t wait for computer time this weekend.

Good news is I’m making real progress in BA this week. Writing it is coming easier again, and next week you’ll all get a special treat.
