Prizes:

With two concurrent contests, the prizes have changed from last year. This year there will be two grand prizes! And after dedicating a large portion of the summer and late November to working on the secret project I’ve had going, I’m proud to announce that the winners will receive a paperbound copy of Brothers Apart! The first seven stories, held in your hands!

  • 1 copy of Brothers Apart: Season 1
  • 2 sneak peeks of future Brothers Apart stories, both angst and cutes.

The book can ship internationally, so feel free to enter if you are outside of the United States! Just remember that you will have to be comfortable with giving me your mailing address, there is no way around that.

January 21st excerpt:

“Dean, you sure as hell know that I’m the faster one when it comes to getting around this place. You try and leave without me, I’ll just hitch a ride.”

Dean scoffed. “You wouldn’t.”

Sam’s eyes were steely. “Try me,” he repeated.

How should posting work after Salt Lines has completed?

(since more options have come up since I asked yesterday)

  1. Finish up Salt Lines and Lich at three posts a week, then switch to one story at a time. That story may be from any AU and will post three times a week. ( here )
  2. Start another AU after Salt Lines and continue to have Brothers Apart update on Fridays.
  3. Wait to do the AU’s until after Lich has completed. ( here )

Send in the number of your choice in an ask or reply to this post. Other opinions that don’t match the choices are welcome as well! The deviantart poll is as split as I’ve ever seen it.

January 20th excerpt:

For years, they’d both hoped for the curse to wear off, for John to come back. They’d watched the parking lot from the small opening on the roof. Dean stayed as far back from the edge as he could and swore it was only to avoid the birds outside. Sam could never understand how his older brother could manage to climb like he did and still turn white at heights. But his drive to watch for their dad kept him there, despite the fear.

We’re so happy that you’re enjoying them (and especially happy that everyone is looking forward to seeing Jacob show up, he’s gotta be one of my ( @nightmares06 ) favorite characters to rp against), and we are currently leaning in this direction. It would be weird to go back to one post a week, really. Though I’m also not against the option to switch to only one story posting at a time, with more updates. It would put a stop to constant BA updates, though, so we’ll wait to see if anyone else likes that option.

Does anyone else agree with this idea?

If I do this, there won’t be weekly BA updates. Instead, you’ll get a poll before a new story starts posting. The poll will include the next finished story in each series, including BA if it’s done. BA stories do take longer to write than the AU’s.

That story would have three weekly updates, at least for the time being, and since it’s the only one posting it would be easier to keep track of the updates.

Looking for input on when we start posting the AU’s!

Originally, we were going to start posting after Lich of Sense, since the Brothers Found series will include spoilers for that. Now, we’ve got two other series that don’t have any of that kind of spoilers.

So, send in your thoughts, or reply to this post (also weigh in on the poll found here). Should we wait until after A Lich of Sense has finished posting and perfect the stories we have in the works (ALoS is the longest BA story yet, just to warn you!) or should we start prepping them and begin posting after the Salt Lines fun has ended, including the shorts that come after the main story?

Sam and Dean were caught up in a case at the time, and it went by without them noticing. It was before the events of Taken, so Sam was more relaxed at that time.

Dean did find a gingerbread man that was Sam’s size and let his brother have it. Sam had no real idea what to do with it.

They had a much happier time together when Sam’s birthday rolled around.
