The only stipulation is that it be BA oriented, which means the Celeste’s curse is present in the story. I’ve always stuck with the Trails West for the stories I’ve done, but she could always find the brothers at other motels. Go nuts with it!
The first one will run through deviantart. All details can be found here. The entries must be submitted through that website with a link to the contest journal provided in the deviation.
The second contest is run through tumblr, for those that do not have a deviantart. Last year my contest was only on deviantart, but since then the fanbase of the story has expanded and it would be unfair to leave anyone out of a chance to win. All details for the tumblr contest can be found here, and the entries are accepted on tumblr, fanfiction.net, and archive of our own.
Each contest has the same grand prize, and if three writing entries and three art entries are received for either, that contest will have two grand prizes, one for each category.
You can enter into both contests, but you must have a different entry for each. All art mediums welcome, so long as it relates to Brothers Apart or any of its AU’s!
From January 1st, 2016 to March 31st, 2016, there is a contest running for Brothers Apart!
All art mediums are welcome, but the art must be based off of one of the stories within the Brothers Apart Universe.
Literature is accepted, so feel free to enter in any story entries you want. The stipulation is if it is a multi-part story, all parts must be up by March 31st.
Rules:
Must be based on Brothers Apart. Canon brothers will not be accepted and neither will the stories I have written that are not related to the AU. (An Ounce of Courage, Reversal of Fate, The Comeback Kid, Afraid, ect…)
You may create an entry based on one of the various AU’s (Brothers Lost, Brothers Together, ect…) or create your own AU, but if it is canon brothers, it is not Brothers Apart, and therefore not accepted, unless they’re interacting with the BA bros.
This contest is run alongside the same contest on my deviantart profile. You may enter into each contest, but must have two different entries.
Everyone is welcome to enter except for @nightmares06, since I will be running the contest. 😉
You may include any OC’s from the stories in any artwork or writing (i.e. Walt, Nixie, Kara…)
or create your own OC’s to interact with them! It’s fun to do!
For the tumblr contest, you may upload your entry to tumblr, fanfiction.net or archiveofourown.com.
For fanfiction.com or archive of our own entries, please send a message with the location of your entry to brothersapart.spn@gmail.com so it can be displayed on tumblr.
For the deviantart contest, send a note to nightmares06 with the entry to ensure that it is added to the contest journal. Also provide a link to the contest journal. All deviantart entries must be submitted to the deviantart site.
Each entry will be displayed on the Brothers Apart tumblr, and the deviantart entries will also be displayed in the deviantart journal.
If you want to change your entry at any time for either contest, please message me through the BA email or a note on DA.
If enough entries are received for either contest (three art entries and three writing entries), I will split that contest further and have writing and art as their own separate entries with their own grand prize. If this happens, there will be an announcement on either the deviantart journal or the tumblr profile, whichever one is affected. This means there could be as many as four grand prizes!
The prize is something that must be mailed to you (and you’ll find out what it is soon!) so you must be comfortable sharing your address and name. All personal data shared with me will never be shared with anyone else and will be deleted after the package is shipped.

Jacob Andris is my ( @neonthewrite‘s ) character. His canon storyline can be found in my original work, Fairy Tales: Bowman of Wellwood. That happens to be the same story from which Bowman Leafwing, featured in A Lich of Sense, originates. Jacob is normally human sized, however for the Extra Borrower Kid AU, he has become a victim of Celeste’s shrinking curse, the same as Sam Winchester.
Readers of mine know Jacob as a well-meaning kid who took a little time to get used to the idea of small folk existing (much to Bowman’s eternal annoyance). This crossover AU explores how Jacob deals with being the small one this time around. At least he’s got help!
Nope, this isn’t what will happen in the Mystery AU… but this exact thing will happen in Brothers Lost, and Jacob will have to deal with a snarky little guy he finds trying to snitch his pie. The guesses are getting closer, and a new preview was earned for Brothers Lost:
It was easier to see the miniature leather jacket and black tee. The tiny man even had denim jeans on and what looked like leather boots. Jacob glanced aside to the little duffel he had discarded. He wondered where the leather all came from.
The little guy looked like a little biker or something. Holy shit.
Jacob’s smile returned and he reached out with his free hand to brush at the hem of the jacket before finding one of the little arms and lightly pinching it between his finger and thumb. Jacob was amazed; those tiny fingers could practically press into the ridges of his fingerprints! One hand wasn’t enough to cover even his pinky fingertip.
“Holy shit,” Jacob echoed.
This was no hallucination. This was real. He had actually found a tiny little man in his motel room. A motel, of all places. How in the world had he even survived at a size like this?
“Dude, what are you, some kinda borrower or something?”
Dean tried to rip his arm from the grip of the thick fingers. “What are you, some kind of Godzilla or something?” he mimed back without missing a beat.
Dean managed to get Walt to make him his own leather jacket and a leather bag just like Sam… only his ended up shaped just like the bag he lost when he shrank, so he’s got a very little duffel bag! This story is under construction right this moment and we’re very excited for how it’s going!
For anyone that’s not familiar, there are three campers that intrude on Bowman’s forest in the story Fairy Tales: Bowman of Wellwood. Jacob Andris, Bobby Loran and Chase Lisong. One is featured prominently and the other two may appear in any of the AU’s at any time, just like Bowman and Oscar!
These are all really interesting guesses from the last few days (I’ve been overwhelmed with work or I’d have posted them sooner), but any guesses with just Sam and Dean won’t hit the mark. I’m going to add them to the list of guesses later on and if anyone is ever interested in playing around with the ideas let me know. I don’t mind seeing people play around in the BA worlds. Who knows, in the future I might drabble one or two myself.
For the guessing game, all that’s needed is the premise of the story. For instance, people still don’t know who’s involved in the ‘kid catches Sam’ AU. I can’t give everything away, that would ruin the point of guessing.
