October 8th excerpt:

Jacob jolted at the sight of that mean-looking little fishhook soaring into the air. His lips parted and he lowered his head so he could see the underbelly of the car easier. To his astonishment, the hook caught on a small, nondescript opening in the metal, and the line pulled taut in Sam’s grip.

Holy shit, Jacob thought, an amazed smile sneaking onto his face. He couldn’t help it. That was badass.

While Sam scurried up the climbing line like it was as easy as breathing, Jacob watched in awed silence. Bowman would never be able to do something like that. He had enough trouble climbing on the fabric of Jacob’s hoodie and had to be rescued if he fell into the hood itself. Jacob doubted Sam would have the same trouble with it.

October 4th excerpt:

Jacob noticed the pressure of teeny hands on his face at last. His brow furrowed and he flinched away, startled awake at last. Leaves and grass rustled underneath his movements.

One hand rushed in to scoop up the source of his waking, to keep Bowman out of the way while his other hand propped him up. Jacob didn’t want to accidentally knock the little guy over. Most people might just swat at a feeling like that, but Jacob had gotten used to it. If he was out in the forest, he wouldn’t swat at an unknown tickle until he was sure it wasn’t a sprite.

When he was sitting up and blinking the sleep away, Jacob finally registered a couple things about the squirming shape in his hand. Brown hair instead of green, pale skin instead of brown… no wings. Oh…

October 2nd excerpt:

There was a small smile lurking at the edge of Dean’s mouth as he watched everyone file onto his hand, heartened by the trust they had in him. “Dean express, heading out,” he said, the joking tone almost alien to the emotions he’d battled with during the last day.

The second hand came over to cup around the edge of the first, guarding the three people from the drop that formed as he went to stand. Bowman might complain, but Sam didn’t have wings like the others to catch himself if he slipped.

Cussing at himself isn’t likely, although you can bet Bowman would probably boast at himself in an endless circle if they all let him. Otherwise it’s time to race around the room to show off their wings, and both versions can frown because they’re both just as fast. They didn’t think this one through.

Considering how much grief the tol Deans are giving little Dean in the Lounge so far, any Bowman would probably get along with him better. Those giant Deans, who do they think they are? They need a bop, is what they need.

Shy little Oscar would, like with all people, awaken a quiet “protect this little guy” notion in Bowman. With Bowman that just means he’d probably be more patient with Oscar (especially kiddo Oscar) and not heckle him like he does everyone else. It’s hard to want to be mean to Oscar for any reason. That’s a Crime.

This is the most typical Bowman thing I’ve ever drawn haha. Kiddo is an active sleeper no matter what age he is.

Bby Bowman and 3E for @nightmares06, from this sleepy expressions meme. Send me a character!

Bowman belongs to @neonthebright, art belongs to me!

Bowman, once again, rolled over in his sleep one turn too far. The blankets couldn’t hold him in place and he hit the floor with a thump, just like always.

I should get back into bed, he thought to himself.

Not quite putting action to thought, Bowman breathed a deep sigh and fell right back to sleep.

This one required much deep thought, so it took a little longer to answer compared to normal.

( @nightmares06‘s type is INFP )

Walt Watch– ESTJ

He is not actively social, but he is action-oriented. If something’s about to happen, he’s going to be there whether he wants to or not. He has a strong sense of duty (including to his more gigantic family members he seems to pick up), and will take charge if it is needed.

Not adventurous at all, but gets dragged into adventures anyway.

Nixie/Ilyana– Impossible to determine

Neither sprite is human, and their personalities, though clashing, each lack something that humans have in them. Nixie is an empath but lacks any decisive abilities. Her life is following orders, whether it be through a summons or through a binding spell. This often makes her more of an automaton than any human would be. Ilyana, on the other hand, lacks empathy and understanding for anyone who isn’t a sprite. She and the other fire sprites are sociopathic, but only to non-sprites.

Moira Wainscot– INFJ

Warm and understanding, her curiosity and desire to grow coincides well with her older adopted brothers. They enjoy teaching her what they can as much as she wants to learn it.

Sometimes, her determination is stronger than their stubbornness.

( @neonthewrite is I and F, but landed in the middle between S/N and J/P )

Jacob Andris– INFP

Jacob is friendly, but he doesn’t necessarily seek out new people spontaneously. He’s very go-with-the-flow, and he’s far for perceptive than people might first think from looking at him. He’s loyal and makes an effort to be calm and patient with people. He embodies chill.

Bowman Leafwing– ES(T/F)P

Bowman’s harder to pin down as far as MBTI types go. He’s brash and loud and quite willing to jump into an argument, with a lot of focus on the here and now, the concrete facts that he has available to him. Even so, he’s flexible and able to take in new information well, even if he grumbles about it. He’s a good problem solver, and tenacious as all get out.

Oscar the OC– INFJ

Despite having such a similar type to Jacob, Oscar has some key differences. He’s much more dependent on some form of organization to keep himself grounded, and he’s afraid of new people in most cases. Even so, he idealizes the thought of being calm, even if he’s very much not. Keeping structure in his life is paramount to his emotional well-being.

Stan Baker– ENFJ

He is a natural and inspirational leader, and makes friends easily, particularly with people he works with. He reads people well, sees their inner potential, and does what he can to bring that potential to fruition. Full of warmth and empathy, he sees emotional needs in others and often is the one to help them through it and learn to grow from it.

September 16th excerpt:

Bowman shook his head. “Nothing’s happened since yesterday.”

“Well, that’s what we’re here for,” Dean said, shifting the position of his duffel so it stopped digging into his back. “We came packing.”

“Plenty of new human magic for you, Bowman!” Sam called out.
