So, In “Bedtime Stories” (Season 3, Episode 5), Dean had taken a role as a fairy tale character (the hunter from red riding hood) and Sam didn’t. But if the BA brothers would’ve taken this case, I have a feeling Sam would’ve had more than enough trouble with his role. He’ll probably have the Thumbelina role, or should I say – Sambelina? Can’t help but imagining him somehow managing to get himself kidnapped by a frigging toad, Dean will never let him hear the end of it!

No, I doubt Sam would ever hear the end of it, especially if Dean had to rescue him!

Gotta play his part ;P

Dean and Sam Winchester fan art for brothers apart! @nightmare06 @neonthebright @brothers apart. Dean and Sam are exhausted after a routine salt and burn, they were both asleep before their heads hit the pillow! But don’t worry, Sam dosent mind sleeping with dean every once in a while. even if he was to tired to recognise the difference between a hand and his blanket, he knows dean’s got him.

Dean and Sam never expected to hear from Oscar so soon, but mere months after they met the little guy the first time, he has news of a strange murder right in his own motel. Of course, the brothers must rush back to help figure out what’s going on before more victims are claimed.

What happens when a side character tests well with audiences their first time around? They come back. Such is the case with little Oz! Here’s to hoping he gets more yummy food for all his trouble.

Dean and his tiny brother Sam are having trouble solving a case involving several missing children. Little do they know, another tiny person like Sam has been keeping an eye on them, curious about the strange pair.

This story delves into what it must be like to be one of the throwaway side characters in any given episode of Supernatural.

This story won first place during the first Brothers Apart contest, and was Oscar’s first time in a story!

Will Sam ever share some of his journal entries with Dean? I know that journaling is super private, but I’m sure Dean would be curious to know what’s in there since he can’t even see the words himself…

There’s actually a few reasons he hasn’t shared the journal just yet in the actual Brothers Apart storyline! (In Brothers Lost and Brothers Consulted, Dean has, on more than one occasion, stolen Sam’s journal with varying results).

In the beginning, Sam didn’t know if Dean was the brother he remembered. It was well over a decade since they’d seen each other last, so he took it slow. The journal was one of the things he kept private, and Dean respected that.

Later on, as their bond came back, and they grew to be a team, Sam discovered that without something to magnify his journal, Dean can’t read it. The tiny handwriting in it is too small for Dean to read, and it would feel plain awkward for Dean to sit there with a magnifying glass the entire time they’re looking through it.

If Sam ever gets a chance with Dean at his scale, he’d love to share it with his big brother…

I was rereading brothers apart and I have to ask – where the heck is Sam’s knak?? I mean, I couldn’t find it anywhere, and he has one in all the other aus, so did I miss something? Or is there a reason for this? Course I’m really confused over here…

Nope, you didn’t miss anything!

The first stories for Brothers Apart was written quite a bit before the other stories were ever conceived of. In the beginning, the story shadowed the Supernatural storyline a lot closer, before the story really took off in its own direction.

Sam used to have the same ability from the TV show, where he got prophetic dreams. I ended up switching tracks around the time that Taken was being written, and decided to give my borrowers their own special abilities instead of paralleling the special children from season 2.

If I remember right, you will see bits and pieces of Sam’s knack start to appear in Taken, and then it shows up fully in Adventures at Bobby’s. We started writing A Lich of Sense right after Taken, and after that all the rest of the AUs took off and Sam’s knack became official, with Dean’s shortly following.

A lot of the ideas for the knacks owe a huge thanks to my cowriters! They wouldn’t be anywhere near as developed without them, and @neonthebright is the one that came up with Dean’s knack!

These days we love brainstorming on who would have what knack if they grew up a borrower!
