The 2020 contest has ended and the results are in!

Thanks to everyone for participating! All entrants will receive a special sneak peek at the special excerpts from last year, I will be in contact with the link, as a thanks for all the time you put into the contest.

Because Sta.sh is acting different from what I’m used to, your new prizes will be sent to you in their unedited form, as google docs that you can view. Older prizes will be seen in their sta.sh place where I have them saved.

The cutest artwork of a trip Sam and Dean took to a farm when they were kiddos! Dean’s just lucky that Sam didn’t turn his battle chicks on his big bro. This was a great lil entry to get!

It Don’t End In Blood by ThePoisonLily

This is certainly a very emotional story for Sam, as he’s captured by a hunter and taken to a place where he doesn’t recognize anyone, and the Harvelles have to figure out what to do with a child the size of a mouse! Kiddo Jo and kiddo Sam are adorable, and I’m personally hoping to see more of these two in the future 😉

Grand Prize Winner

@torchmlp​ with I’m Not Letting You Go entered into the tumblr contest, and Sibling Rivalry entered into the deviantart contest!

Each of these entries was phenomenal, and I’m Not Letting You Go had me in tears, I’m pretty sure. I was a puddle during the story, and it nearly had me wanting to write something for it myself, I was so touched. Just an all-around great story, and Sam and Jacob getting into mischief is always a wonderful thing!

The first time I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting a craft entry, Sam now has a bed of his own! (and Jacob has a crib, but he doesn’t want to talk about that) This was a great surprise to receive, and thanks so much for the entry! Smol Dean’s gonna be a little jealous, but he’s got his whiskey to drown his sorrows in.

If an artwork ever captured the essence of BA, down to the fires that took Sam and Dean’s childhood and later family, this is it. I couldn’t stop staring at it the moment I got the notification! You did so good it broke my heart!

Another artwork that captures a favorite moment of mine that I only got to show in a small prompt! Sam and Dean reunited for the first time after the events in Taken, with Sam finally taking that first big step towards his big brother while fighting through some PTSD of his own that other humans caused.

Survey responses (pt 3)

I’m not 100% sure what’s up there now but things I don’t think are on there that I’d like to see: – a post for when a story is posted on DA and AO3 that I can reblog as a fic rec. With summary and characters etc. I think it would also raise awareness for the series and get it out to a wider audience, which would be awesome because everyone should read it. – A kofi link? – A link to a commissions page – A page that lists all the related authors and betas and artists so I can follow all of them – also maybe a record of contest winners of old – schedule of events for the year including contest and when each new survey for the next published story will be – links to BA on every platform – a pretty theme

This is just the kind of response I’m looking for ❤ I’ll have to split it up to answer.

We used to do this, back in the beginning, but a lot of those posts tended to get ignored/no one was reblogging. Like I said in the last post, I think I’ll look back into it, now that I have a format that looks good on posts that I use on the main story masterpost page (link only works on desktops). 

I’ll see what I can come up with over the weekend when I’m not busy, and maybe a post or two for the older stories, like the original Brothers Apart. We love if people reblog our posts! Getting the word out is the main goal of this blog, but we rarely see reblogs, mostly likes.

A kofi link?

I’ll try and get some HTML over the weekend to put the ko-fi link up on the header. I’ve been putting it off. The ko-fi page is here, if anyone’s interested before I have the time to get it up, to support the art for the stories and/or broke creator of BA.

A link to a commissions page

I don’t have a completely organized page for the commissions, but we do have a tag for them on the tumblr. It’s hard because not all of them are posted on this site, especially if we got them for story parts that aren’t published yet. If you want to see the deviantart commissions, check out the folder I have on Deviantart, and browse the commissoned art tag on tumblr. 

Of course, reblogging the commissions we’ve gotten supports both us and the original artist!

I haven’t done this yet because it’s hard to know for sure when the next story will post, but I guess I can just change the dates if something comes up?? Maybe. Will consider options for a calendar.

a pretty theme

I did recently update the main tumblr theme, but the mobile one isn’t as friendly for changes. Did anyone have any ideas? I wanted to stick close to the darker colors to keep the foreboding Supernatural atmoshpere we have going.

Grand Prize Winner

@wolfie180g​ with Brothers Transposed entered into the tumblr contest, and The Dragon at Knights Inn in the deviantart contest!

Just one of these stories might have won on their own, but together they make a perfect storyline of fun for Sam and Dean as they travel through both body-swapping shenanigans followed up by a visit to their friend Oscar’s motel, where a certain dragon from Dragon!Dean is still scared of heights makes his first (and hopefully not last!) visit to the Brothers Apart multiverse! All these stories are accentuated by the artwork done for them by wolfie as well, and so they take the gold! A must-read for any BA fan.

Another story that brings the brothers on a journey, Winchesters’ Travels visits one of my favorite settings in g/t history with a modern upgrade! Dean gets to be Gulliver while Sam finally fits in, and these two will find their way through a politically demonic mess to help the kingdom of Lilliput before they’re sent to war with their neighbors.

This was a ride from start to finish! When Dean wakes up with Sam missing, and Sam wakes up in a completely unknown place, things get tense and Sam will be fighting to stay alive from the get-go! With a very diverse group of characters, I hope to learn more about them in the future :3

The first entry with a giant AU (with prior approval from @nightmares06), this story definitely won me over! Dean is a giant that Sam’s on the hunt for, and they have no idea who the other person is as they circle each other.

The final winner I get to choose picked a different route. We’ve got some brotherly fluff to close out my picks, and a moment Sam and Dean certainly won’t ever talk about again– but they’ll remember it to the end of their days!
