Oh, he definitely has!

Sam’s learned to ignore it as best he can. He doesn’t want to go making Dean self-conscious with something they can’t help, and if Dean’s driving while he eats a quick bite, Sam wouldn’t want to be down on the seat of the car. Too unsafe for a guy too small for a guy who can’t wear a seatbelt.

Completely forced ignorance from Sam, knowing he’s not in any danger whatsoever. Occasionally losing his appetite.

July 13th excerpt:

Lunch took half an hour, and Dean spent most of that time patiently scanning the world outside the Impala. He couldn’t stomach the thought of food, so he fiddled with the paper bag the sandwich had come from, hoping maybe Sam would think he’d eaten a second sandwich. Maybe he’d been too distracted to listen to Dean order, or–

“Really?”

Dean lost all hope of sliding this one past Sam when he heard the disapproving tone in the soft voice down on the seat. He turned his eyes down to where Sam was standing with his arms crossed, right next to the parted foil wrapper of the sandwich. Clearly, he knew Dean had never ordered more food. Not that Dean had held out much hope of slipping it by Sam. He never could.

With a wan smile, Dean gave it his best shot. “I just figured you might want seconds,” he said in a half-hearted protest, waving the food off.

May 25th excerpt:

Dean rolled his eyes, and this time didn’t bother with the stand-up menu. Instead, he reached over and lightly nudged Jacob to his feet, propping his finger underneath a small arm and pushing him up. He had to restrain himself the second he felt exactly how light Jacob was against his finger. If he moved too fast, he’d pull the kid right off the table again, just like the time Dean had gone for the bag he was wearing and ended up taking Jacob along for the ride.

Watching those small legs kicking in the air, dangling helplessly over what was to him a huge distance… it was the first time in years Dean had felt his overprotective side rise up in him.

“Not happenin,’ ” he scolded gently as he maneuvered Jacob closer to the plate. “You’re eating some of this food one way or the other. Don’t make me try and make the world’s smallest cheeseburger. We both know that won’t end well.”

Jacob tried to resist, but he might as well be pushing on a wall. He tried to shove Dean’s hand away, but the huge fingers were too strong for him. Digging his heels in was just as useless, and soon enough he found himself marched over to the plate like an ornery kid. He stumbled a few times, but with Dean guiding him along he was standing still again in no time.

August 30th excerpt:

“Oh!” Oscar said in a surprised hush, stepping back from the poke. It nearly tickled, but more than that it was still a strange feeling, all these nudges from a finger bigger than his body. He put his hands over his middle, absently clutching at the fabric of his shirt while he looked back at Dean.

“I didn’t eat it,” he said, with the exact tone of a kid wanting to avoid trouble. “I just picked it up. I was gonna eat it, um, later, but if you wanna I can put it back.”
