October 26th excerpt:

“Alright,” Jacob muttered, shifting his focus entirely to the small sleeping person. He didn’t want to leave Sam lying in the book. He moved a hand tentatively towards Sam, ready to snatch it back if he startled the little guy awake.

It didn’t happen. Jacob had had practice picking up sleeping sprites before, and it showed now. Despite his hand being so much bigger, he was able to nudge it under Sam while hardly disturbing his curled-up position. His fingers curled protectively over the tiny weight. When he stood, his hand remained steady thanks to the times he’d carried young nestlings home at their insistence on a ride on his hand.

October 5th excerpt:

Sam stepped up onto Jacob’s hand, again testing his weight on the unfamiliar texture of the teenager’s palm. It was so different than Dean’s; much larger but also much softer, lacking the calluses formed by years of hunting and car repair, scars of battle covering the surface. Jacob had quite a few years to go before he caught up to Dean.

It was a hand that didn’t belong to Dean or Bobby. Sam had never willingly stepped into a stranger’s hand like this, and he didn’t count earlier with Bowman. His mind was focused on one thing that time, that his friend needed help. Now, it was all he could think about. For so long, he’d never trusted anyone else with his life in their hands. Often with good reason, considering his experiences.

There wasn’t much time to waste, so Sam didn’t linger on the palm. He was there just long enough to examine the surface with a critical eye, then darted over Jacob’s thick wrist and began to climb the muscular arm. Sam didn’t say a word until he reached Jacob’s shoulder, taking his place where he felt most comfortable. He squatted down and gripped the hoodie fabric for balance. “Ready!” he chirped.

October 2nd excerpt:

There was a small smile lurking at the edge of Dean’s mouth as he watched everyone file onto his hand, heartened by the trust they had in him. “Dean express, heading out,” he said, the joking tone almost alien to the emotions he’d battled with during the last day.

The second hand came over to cup around the edge of the first, guarding the three people from the drop that formed as he went to stand. Bowman might complain, but Sam didn’t have wings like the others to catch himself if he slipped.

October 1st excerpt:

Stalking over to Dean’s boot, Sam pounded his fist on the thick leather and called up “Dean! Down here!”

In seconds, Dean was kneeling down again, the sight of him dropping down so fast and from so close nearly making Sam’s head spin. He jabbed a finger at the smudged mark. “Bowman found something that looks right, can you see it?”

Dean squinted, and after a long moment put a hand down on the ground near them, glancing around himself to see if anyone else was nearby, then going flat on his stomach. He peered closely at the ground before shaking his head. “Maybe… a smudge or something.”

July 31st excerpt:

With that said, he finally slid the last length down to Dean’s hand. Giant, Jacob-sized fingers were curled up, creating a net for him to land safely in. Jacob wasted no time lifting the cuff of Dean’s sleeve as much as he could. Part of it was held down by the ropes.

“Aha!” he said triumphantly, practically diving into the sleeve. There was a blade tucked in between the shirt and jacket, just like Jacob thought. He grabbed the dull edge with both hands and planted his tiny boots on Dean’s wrist to give the hidden weapon a tug. It would be three quarters of Jacob’s length, perfect for sawing at the bindings.

The blade was big, but it was made to slide free with just a flick from Dean’s wrist, making it easy for Jacob to pull it out. The slight tickle against his wrist made Dean twitch under Jacob’s boots, but he didn’t rouse. There was only some slight flexing of those massive fingers before they relaxed.

July 7th excerpt:

A smirk tugged at the corner of Stan’s mouth as Dean once again exuded that cocky air he’d gotten to know. Before he could even give it a second thought, the hand Dean had been poking swept out, catching those little bowlegs behind the knees and curling his fingers into a low awning over Dean’s head as he fell into Stan’s grasp.

“Oh, my! What have we here?” exclaimed Stan in mock surprise as he lifted his hand to his eyes to peer in at Dean. Behind his smug grin, a warm bubble of pride rose in his chest, glad to be able to do that with none of the apprehension he had before. Even if it was just to rise to Dean’s bait and tease him a bit. “You lost, mousie?”

June 5th excerpt:

Dean blocked Jacob’s passage again with a hand, but it was only a half-hearted attempt this time. It would be easy for Jacob to get around the hand if he wanted to. Dean couldn’t stop himself from being slightly crestfallen at the way Jacob kept insisting that he needed to get out of the way.

“But… didn’t you want to learn how to do it? What to look for?” Dean couldn’t stop the hopeful tone of voice he adopted, looking forward to teaching someone else the ropes for once. Something he hadn’t done since Sam was around.
