Dean must save the tiny sprite kiddo. And Vel promptly decided that the human is his now. We’ll find out soon whose leaf boat will win the race!
Fun fact: Vel’s wings flutter involuntarily a lot because of their development. Wood sprite wings are full of nerves, and once they’ve uncurled from the leaf bud shape of early childhood, they’re extra sensitive to everything, which makes them twitch and flutter. Vel is just barely six, so his wings wouldn’t have been uncurled for very long at all.
No, he is not going to do his song and dance and leave. What I said was after the contest I held last year (x) I asked PL1 to collaborate, and she agreed. This story is not for a contest. It is the tenth part of Brothers Apart, and canon in my series timeline.
There will be a contest soon, but LoS has nothing to do with it aside from being another of my stories.
As for what’s going to happen to Bowman, you’ll just have to read and find out.

In all seriousness, though. The contest last year was a grand time and I was incredibly flattered that it actually got nightmares to ask me to write with her. Only a few days away and we’ll all be going on a trip to the woods! And Dean really needs to take Sam’s advice when he goes camping, this is one hunter not made for nature hikes.

One of my favorite titles for a story, I think. Sam and Dean have a case waiting for them in the woods of northern Illinois and no one can tell if it’s what they’re expecting to find. Just a local ‘problem with the wolves.’ I think Dean puts it best…
“This don’ make a lick of sense…”
