And the funny thing is, the people Mina Chandler dealt with in Taken were from the UK in the first place, we just never got to see them because Sam got out before he was sold off… to them or to Celeste.

It feels a little odd to think of him as normal sized. He’s been my smol borrower dad for so long, adopting his wayward human sons no matter how big they happen to be. I’ll have to think about what he’d be if he was human.

The teeny little Jake in the horror story isn’t quite that small… his friends give him an estimated height of about an inch and a half, but they don’t have any rulers around to measure him by. Small enough to be a teddy bear to a man four inches tall (Sam’s claimed), yet still big enough to manage some interaction with Dean without any outside help, so long as the hunter is paying close attention.

We don’t honestly have an overarching name for all the ‘verses, but we’re always open to ideas!
For the moment, we refer to the collective of stories as BAU. Initially, it only stood for Brothers Apart Alternate Universe, but we’ve widened it to include Brothers Apart as well. Both of our other blogs include BAU tags to label anything that relates to these stories, like inspiring gifs.

It’s our regular scale, only in reverse. So from Jacob’s point of view, Sam will stand 4 inches tall, and to Sam and Dean, Jacob will be a little over 120 feet tall.
I think it’s best if we let Jacob answer this one…
Jacob Andris’ heart skipped a beat. His eyes widened at the sight of two normal humans standing at the opposite edge of the clearing. He still hadn’t gotten used to how small everyone looked now.
They’re not small. I’m the giant.
Not too many hikers made it up this far, and even fewer would likely try, now that there were rumors everywhere about the terrible, man-eating giant living somewhere among the cliffs. Jacob usually tried not to go walking around too much, since he knew he left a very noticeable trail as he broke frail branches away just by brushing by them.
It was hard to get enough food to sustain his new size. He had found a young mulberry tree in his wanderings of the higher slopes. He’d hoped to shake free enough of the small fruit to matter, and was considering chewing an entire branch to get some fruit when he heard it.
A voice. Turning to look at them allowed him to spot the gleam of a gun just in time. These were no normal hikers. They weren’t dressed for it, and they were armed.
He knew this would come eventually. Rumors would spread about a monster, and people would come looking for the glory of taking it down.
God. Everyone’s so scared of me, he lamented. He knew these guys wouldn’t listen any more than the others had. People took one look at his size and didn’t even bother trying to listen to him when he spoke. His voice could shake the trees.
He really had become something of a monster, wittingly or not.

Shrunken Jacob has super strength! All of the littles in the Brothers Apart related AUs have greater proportional strength than a human; this is why Sam and Dean in Brothers Lost can haul each other around like kittens. Jacob, however, has even more strength than that. It helps a ton that he can carry supplies that the others would have to leave. He can also open Tupperwares when they go to raid the kitchen, leaving a wider variety of food available for his family.
In fact he does! Just like Sam, Dean and Jacob, the moment he was cursed a part of his mind was unlocked by that same curse! This will be a theme that is touched upon heavily in the as of yet, unnamed twelfth installment of Brothers Apart (the story I am currently agonizing over), and Sean’s ability will be revealed.
