The big thing for me in the new AU is seeing Sam and Dean reconnect. I want to see how they cope with finding each other and being reunited. For me, the best moment will be when they realize who the other one is. Jacob being the first little Sam finds is a fun twist since it somewhat prepares him for meeting Dean. I know that answer is cliche but it’s my favorite part of each AU you’ve had thus far :)

Aww, yes. First encounters are a favorite in all G/t stories! The different ways the interactions can go, how they all react to each other, whether there’s trust from the start or suspicion threading through the encounter…

Plus, with Dean on the small side, we all know that the first meeting never goes the way the tol is going to expect.

I imagine that Dean’s probably upset about not being able to hunt monsters, so a hunt that Sam can’t solve cause he’s too tol might be a good starter.

Dean will be so stuffy about the fact that Sam’s a full-fledged hunter but he’s never even gotten the chance!

The amount of sass Sam will get if there’s a hunt where Dean happens to be the more useful size than Sam. So much. Sam’s going to get called all the nicknames. Every nickname. Damn Sasquatch. Why’d he have to go and get so tall?!?! At least Dean’s the only one that can navigate so easily in the vents between them. Sam would practically have to worm his ways into the vents, and that’s if they’re even big enough to fit him at all.

I think in the new au I’d like to see some pleasant interactions, it looks like Sam has it off to a good start by not trapping Jacob, but just genuine good feels. Like taking dean to see his car, or taking them outside just for funsies.

Oh, yes. Sam’s already looking to be starting off with a better record than Dean.

No vase, for one.

They’ll definitely have to take Dean to see his car! It might be one of the few things to coax him out into the open like that, while he’s still getting to know Sam all over again.

Sam is so going to try and low-key spoil his (tiny) big brother once they clear that mess all up! After all, he thought Dean died protecting him. Now Sam knows Dean survived abandoned.

Is tiny Sam stronger than tiny Dean?

Only as much as full sized Sam is larger and stronger than his older brother!

On the same size scale, the brothers are as equal as they are in canon. Both receive the strength boon that borrowers get.

Compared to a human at the same size, they’re both around 12 to 13x stronger. With training and proper nutrition, they’ll be closer to 17x their regular strength. So if Dean wanted to, he could dangle Sam by the nape of his neck just as much as Sam does.

He just happens to be shorter, so it’s nowhere near as easy, ffs. Stop that, Sam!

October 29th excerpt:

Sam saw the look they shot him and could only put his hands up placatingly. “Oh, don’t mind me, feel free to carry on your conversation. Take your time.” The dry, flat humor in his voice was heavy, but he couldn’t say he minded, having two different people this size. Even with their numbers doubled and a discussion about weapons going on right in front of him, he couldn’t say he felt particularly threatened.

Just saw the AoL snippet, and it made me remember that I had meant to send in an ask about if wee Stan considered the brothers his owners. Guess that answers that!

It’s a definite misconception between Stan and the Winchesters!

He doesn’t quite see himself the way they want him to…

It took seconds for Stan to grab the clip near the top of the pen and haul it all the way back to Sam, panting a little from the effort as he stepped back to give the human room to take it.

Sam was frozen in his search, not having expected Stan to suddenly shoot off in a different direction while they conversed. Seeing how much effort it took Stan to drag the pen over to him drove into Sam how different they were in size, making him feel obnoxiously oversized all over again.

Dean had an identical look on his face, not knowing how to react.

“S-Stan,” Sam managed to get out, delicately picking up the pen. He’d been looking for one, but– “You can just… tell me where the pen is, okay? You don’t have to go through all that work, I can just grab it.”

The ghost of a proud smile that had found its way to Stan’s features for finally making himself of use melted when he saw Sam’s reaction. Now he was confused all over again, worried that he’d done something wrong.

“But… you wanted it…” Stan trailed off awkwardly, trying to think of a way to fix it. But there was nothing to fix. The pen was fetched, Sam already had it. He didn’t understand why the brothers seemed so averse to his actions, but he resolved to do better next time as soon as he found out.

“That’s… not what I’m saying…” Sam said, his conviction fading at Stan’s reaction. “Just… If I want something, you don’t have to get it for me.” It was so hard to come up with words for what he meant. “I don’t want you straining yourself.”

“You’re not a pet,” Dean interrupted, putting it far blunter than Sam would have done. “You know that… right?”

October 28th excerpt:

Grabbing onto Jacob’s hood, Dean hauled the kid to his feet. He might be weaker than Jacob as far as physical strength went, but right now he had fury and righteousness on his side.

All of this instantly caught Sam’s attention, naturally (how could anyone miss a tiny man stalking onto their table and shouting at the other tiny person?), and he stiffened, nearly going for his knife before seeing the look on the new guy’s face. The new man was older than Jacob easily, maybe even older than Sam, though his features were too small to completely make out, and he was completely focused on berating the kid.
