September 25th excerpt:

By the time he made his way back to the staircase to start showing Dean the remaining two floors, Stan had finished up feeding Juno and worked up the courage to join Nate and Dean on the tour. He’d had more than a few moments to compose himself and he tried to smile at his fiance, though he still had a questioning look in his eyes. Nate tried to project reassurance, but neither of them were willing to talk over Dean’s head about it.

They both knew they were in for a long talk, but it would have to wait. Dean took priority for now.

We made it! The blog got to over 600 followers just this week, and since it’s a special occasion, we’ll share a special picture!

@chewbaccaaah was asking earlier on if Brothers Kept had any fluff coming, or if Dean would stay a nervous wreck, so we’ll show you a rare picture of Stan and Dean actually relaxing. So rare that we haven’t gotten to write it just yet, but you can bet this is coming up for them in the story!

Also, a note for our lovely followers who made this all possible: @nightmares06 is currently on overtime at work, and both her manager and her manager’s manager have resigned, so if posts are sporadic, it’s because of the added stress. Chapter updates remain on schedule though!

September 8th excerpt:

Dean dropped a hand next to Stan. “Tired?” he asked with a knowing glint in his eye.

Stan nodded sleepily, giving in to the infectious yawn he’d caught from Dean. He climbed right onto the offered hand with a lot on his mind as he thought back to the conversation that had gone on over his head during the film.

“Are you… gonna tell other hunters about me?” he asked quietly before all the boldness he’d gleaned from the movie could fade.

September 7th excerpt:

Sam was finally starting to recover on the other bed, huffing with the occasional laugh. “He’s older than you,” he snickered at Dean again.

“Older than you too!” Dean protested in annoyance.

I’m not the one that decided to start calling him kid!”

“You didn’t stop me!”

August 29th excerpt:

“I-I think we should start over,” Dean said in a wavering voice, trying to stand on his toes to spot Stan. Get me out of this.

It was a good thing Sam had ducked back into the walls.

August 23rd excerpt:

Nate’s brow lifted a little to see the borrower emerge. He wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting, but almost everything about Dean caught him off-guard.

Dean was young, no older than Stan or Nate themselves, but not far behind them. He had a sharp look about him, from his spiked haircut to his boots. Even sported a leather jacket to complete the rugged ensemble.

Your littles are at 1:18 scale. Dean, Sam, and mini Stan are watching an adaptation of The Borrowers set at 1:14 scale. The original Borrowers book sets them at 1:12. It just amuses me how many scales are involved right now. (my younger sibs and I just watched that adaptation of The Borrowers tonight and the scale was mentioned in the special features. The books scale I worked out when I first read them, using the fact that Pod is 6″ tall.)

Scales are fun to play around with! Though I do prefer the smaller scales than the original Borrowers stories have. They’re a little big for me in those stories.

(BA smols are at a 1:19 scale)

Dean would be pretty amused to see Stan next to Pod. He’s so much teenier!

August 21st excerpt:

Nate managed to get Juno to calm down a little by the time Stan caught up. Dark eyebrows frowned at Stan as Nathan looked him up and down.

“Where’s Dean?” he asked, wasting no time mincing words.

Stan pointed. “In the kitchen. I kind of set him up with a–,”

Nate’s amber eyes went wide. “You left him on his own?” he hissed, incredulous.
