When I read that Sam needed a compass to figure out where north was, during or shortly after the setting sun my brain went “How the hell they can’t tell where north is!?”, only to be followed by the saying “They really lost their north”. Well played chapter title, well played ~Sassy

As for Sam, they were pretty disoriented after Jacob put the Impala down after carrying them through the forest, and after their time hunting a wendigo Sam’s been working on improving their methods of surviving in the forest.
Great trackers, bad navigators. But Dean always has his M&Ms.
I’m a bit disappointed over Jacob not assembling a cage for dear old Vincent, but I’m happy with him turning the car upside down
Lol! I doubt Vince would appreciate that any more than his car being upended, but I don’t think they wanted to risk him being unable to get to help.
They just made it really, really difficult for him to get moving in a timely manner, so they can get a head start on the other hunter, and with any luck, evade him.
In the last story update it felt a bit like a missed opportunity to suggest maybe whomever cursed Jacob was waiting for him to grow hungry and desperate enough to go on a rampage, giving them plenty of time to get away and cover their tracks from any nosy hunters
Well, whatever happened to Jacob has happened some time ago, so if someone was waiting for him to get desperate enough to go on a rampage, they were disappointed.
Jacob is a very naturally calm person and has a lot of survival experience. He’s been able to trap food on occasion (or steal cows), and certainly hasn’t come close to the point of a rampage, even after getting shot up and threatened by Dean. Which Sam and Dean know now, so it went unmentioned.
No matter what reality Jacob is in, he will never catch a break isn’t he? (Also I love your work Ok bye)

Hi! I love your writing ^^. I stumbled upon Brothers Consulted and read the entire story in one go! I’m slowly reading through your other works but I’d just like to ask when we can expect to read more about Dean, Sam, Sherlock and John. There is a tiny series of short stories that’s placed before The Study of the Four that I wrote out while doing prompts, if you haven’t seen them yet. You can find them under this link.
We actually do have other prequel ideas that we might post in the future, it’s fun thinking of all the ways Sam and Dean nearly got caught!
And of course, we’ve got plenty more planned for this AU 😉
