October 28th excerpt:

“Told you this was a bad idea,” Sam hissed at Dean, watching John lift a pile of paper into the air that most likely weighed more than the pair of them together.

Dean rolled his eyes. “Him? He’s harmless,” he said. “Sherlock is the one we have to worry about.”

“But–” Sam’s protest cut off in shock when Dean pushed himself away from the side of the couch and went to stroll out into the open. It was too late for Sam to dive forward and grab his arm, and all he could do was watch Dean greet what was, to them, a giant.

October 26th excerpt:

“What’s up, doc?”

John’s heart leapt into his throat at the unforeseen greeting, sputtering in the middle of his sip of tea. Quickly transferring the cup onto the counter before he lost his grip on it, he lightly coughed to keep the tea from going down the wrong way.

Once John had his breath back, his eyes darted around the kitchen. The voice sounded like it had come from higher up, so that narrowed down his search considerably, and he spotted Dean soon enough.

The story itself is not yet complete, and after that we’ll be working on editing it. For any new stories written, we actually run a poll when a story is about to wrap up on @brothersapart, helping us randomize what posts next so there’s no favoritism shown towards any of the separate storylines we have going.

Currently story excerpts are posting once a day for the story under #tsotf, and any information or announcements for the Sherlock/Supernatural crossover can be found under #brothers consulted. 

Once it starts posting, it will be found under my and @borrowedtimeandspace‘s Archive of Our Own accounts, under the series name Brothers Consulted.

Since most of the stories posted here are Supernatural stand alones, if you want me to send you a message when BC starts posting, send me a pm on my main account, @nightmares06, and I’ll mark you down for it. I’m just as excited as you are!

October 12th excerpt: 

The only warning they got was a sudden cold shock running up Sam’s back. He stiffened, and before he could warn Dean something was wrong, it was too late.

The human– Sherlock– was standing at the entrance to the kitchen, his eyes glued to them.

The trance shattered and Dean already on the move. “Sam, break! ” he shouted, shoving his little brother towards the entrance they’d come from and running the complete opposite direction himself.

In our new AU, Brothers Consulted, Sam and Dean were captured and sold off as kids, but found their way to safety and a family that helped them out. Over a decade later, they move into a new home to strike out on their own, but the inhabitants turn out to be more perceptive than they expected…
