July 23rd excerpt:

Jacob flinched as the table shook under his feet. He made his way to the edge, wary of any more earthquakes that might send him plummeting. When he could lean forward to see down to the floor, he almost smirked. It wasn’t often that he had a chance to look down at someone anymore. Before he was reduced in size, he was on his way to being taller than almost everyone around him.

The seconds drew out with no exclamations of aha! from Dean. Jacob wasn’t sure why they would ever expect to find someone just like that. Even so, he gave Dean a few more seconds before he said anything.

July 22nd excerpt:

Dean let out a breath and slid his duffel bag from his shoulder, lightly dropping it in the corner. “Now what?”

Jacob glanced to the duffel and the loud clatter it made as it settled on the floor before looking up at Dean. From his position held up in the air, he had a good vantage point of a room in a motel that should be more familiar. Jacob hadn’t had time to memorize his surroundings there before he was hit by the shrinking. After that, he hadn’t come back.

Until now. In one of the weirdest missions he’d ever heard of. “How would I know what to do?” he asked, exasperated.

July 21st excerpt:

By the time the brief conversation to get checked in was over, Jacob’s ears were ringing. He had to keep from fidgeting in the cloth enclosure while he waited for Dean to get to the room, having been stuck in there for hours now. At the sound of a door closing, he moved to stand in the pocket once more. “Finally,” he groused. “Done with pockets for now.”

“It can’t be all that bad,” Dean protested, but he moved to scoop Jacob out of the pocket with two fingers regardless.

July 20th excerpt:

“Sit tight,” Dean cautioned as he pulled into the parking lot. “Gonna get us a room.”

Jacob rolled his eyes. He knew what sit tight meant for him, and he begrudgingly let go of the edge of the pocket to duck back into the folds.

July 19th excerpt:

The wait stretched out longer and longer, and Jacob eventually pulled himself to a stand. He gripped the fabric carefully, and when he was standing at last, he crossed his arms over the edge of the pocket to stay steady. “Are we there yet,” he quipped half-heartedly, squinting down the road as they sped along.

Dean glanced down, a smile on his face the contrast to Jacob’s worry. Lightly ruffling Jacob’s hair before putting his hand on the wheel, he shook his head. “Still got a bit more to go,” he said, tapping out the beat to Smoke on the Water while he talked. “We’ll be there soon.”

July 18th excerpt

Given their initial training session, Sherlock was certain that Stan had more to fear from Dean than vice versa.

That decided, Sherlock pushed himself to stand once again, glancing at Dean once before striding away to gather a few supplies.

“Try not to break him this time,” he chided Dean over his shoulder as he sifted through the equipment on his worktable.

July 17th excerpt:

Stomping to his feet while Sam recovered his equanimity, Dean hollered at the wall, “WHAT?! ” as he grabbed his boots and shoved them on, harder than he might normally.

Hearing the somewhat muffled reply, Sherlock stooped down to peer into the darkness between the books and the wall to keep an eye out for Dean.

July 16th excerpt:

When the harsh knocking came from outside the walls, Sam leaped up two inches from his nest, eyes wide as he went from fast asleep to on the alert in record time. Dean, quietly working on his project in his own nest, accidentally twisted the metal of the paper clip in the wrong direction.

“Son of a bitch! ” he swore, glaring towards the outside of the walls, where they knew Sherlock was. There were times it was convenient to have human allies, and they definitely slept better knowing that they weren’t about to be torn from their homes just because they made a slip-up.

July 15th excerpt:

Sam stumbled to his feet, his neck craned back in an attempt to keep John’s face in sight. He nearly tripped over the edge of the handkerchief Dean was snuggled in, stepping back to look up at John’s immense height.

“You’re tall! ” Sam proclaimed, looking impressed at how high up John’s arms stretched overhead. From down on the nightstand, the giant doctor looked like he could touch the sky.
