Jacob has actually already appeared in the Brothers Apart series, and he will be showing up again! His premier came in Calling John Bonham, when he didn’t believe Bowman’s story of fighting against the lich with the Winchesters, so he called up the number on the business card to see if it was all true.

(Sam must adopt his lil bro Jacob, right?)

In Brothers Together, we don’t know what Jacob’s up to or where he’s at, so only the future will tell! It’s always possible to have any of our characters (especially our main characters) in any of the AUs.

January 8th excerpt:

“As far as I’m concerned, I’m the normal one in the car. It’s you two that are the giants. And I think I’m adorable.”

Stan had to laugh at that, light and friendly. He wasn’t ridiculing Dean’s perspective, but basking in the relaxed banter going on between them. Once he was assured Dean did exist, his next concern was how he would be to work with. He imagined someone so small would find human beings monstrously large.

Despite being outright called a giant by Dean, Stan didn’t feel like a monster at all.

Let’s see… way too much, and not enough at the same time.

If we just count all the unedited stories we’ve written, there’s about 20ish stories waiting. Much less than that number has been edited, and most are around 10 chapters, give or take a few, but then there’s some (like the horror story) that have far, far more chapters waiting to go up.

We just love writing, and can’t stop (won’t stop).

The hard part is actually having time to edit, and with the way work has been, I might end up having to drop to two updates a week if things don’t slow down because by the time I get to the weekend these days I usually just collapse.

January 7th excerpt:

The man was not exactly subtle as he looked over at Sherlock’s shoulder, and that was to Dean’s advantage.

Dean glanced over at Stan, the scarf still draped down around his seat instead of wrapped to keep him hidden. His shoulders remained squared, keeping his bearing as proud as he’d ever been. He might be small, but he wasn’t about to let that get him down now.

“Somethin’ on my face?” Dean asked Stan. He briefly reached up to brush at his hair and make sure it was properly spiked.

If Dean got arrested, all of his stuff would get confiscated. Sam would have to freeze up and pretend to be an action figure, hoping that the person who grabbed him out of Dean’s pocket didn’t tighten their hand just a little too much and break anything. He’d have to hide that he breathes, and blinks, and do his best not to react at their forceful handling of his older brother.

Sam would be placed with Dean’s possessions in evidence bags, leaving him to have to cut himself an airhole to breathe from until he was left alone. Once no one was around, he’d cut himself out, find a way out of lockup, and get back to Dean. He could pick the lock on Dean’s cuffs and get them both out of there.

Character Profile: Nixie

image

Name: Nixie

Age: Immortal

Height: 3.7″

Species: Water sprite of aeternum

Eye Color: Blue

Hair Color: Black turning to blue

Gender: Female

Known Abilities: As with all water sprites, Nixie is drawn to the magic of protection and healing more than destruction. If given a source of freshwater, she is able to heal any wound or sickness; the fresher the water, the more effective the magic. If the water has been processed it will do nothing.

She is able to gather the water from the environment around her and turn it to her bidding. From this water, she can form a shield around herself or others, or freeze the water into spikes to attack with. She can purify poisoned waters, and has enough power in her to purify a source the size of the Great Lakes.

Her magic is bound in the ichor in her wings, if they are broken she is powerless. If she is attacked, she can’t be killed, but she can be mortally wounded. If hit with a powerful enough attack, she can be reduced to water vapor, and without the help of her sisters, it would take her a hundred years to reform.

She has the telepathic ability of empathy, and knows the emotions of all around her. This can’t be turned off, so at times the water sprites will seek solitude in their forest in order to focus themselves inward.

Background: Nixie was brought to life by the gods to serve a purpose in aeternum. To the care of the water sprites was given Lityerses and the necklace that contains the power of the Golden Touch. They watched over their erstwhile brother and he watched them back until he found a way to break through and escape back to earth.

Water sprites like Nixie can be summoned by any human, and often strike bargains. They are also prepared to come if any of the gods call to restore the balance of Nature on earth.

Quote: I must make sure the human world is not threatened by us, sister. Forbidden or not, I must help.

January 6th excerpt:

“I see we’re back to offering hands,” Dean said snidely as he stepped onto Sherlock’s hand. Being grabbed the last few times hadn’t gone unnoticed by the tiny man, though he had more important things on his mind at the time.
