Supernatural Series ending

I’m sure most of our followers have seen the news, especially if they follow my main page, and it’s a sad day for those of us who watch the Supernatural show!

The series will be ending next year with season 15!

We just wanted to make sure that everyone knows, we aren’t going anywhere! The BA stories and pages will continue on, and we will write stories for this so long as we have ideas to fall back on!

We’d like to thank everyone for coming with us on this journey, and I hope to see as many people as possible continue to follow even after the show that inspired our stories ends! Thank you all!

On that note, with all this change coming soon, we’d like to get some input!

What’s everyone looking to see in the future of the Brothers Apart series and its accompanying AUs?

Please let us know in this totally anonymous survey, we’d love to get some feedback from our wonderful followers! You guys have helped make this all possible!

And remember, we’re not going anywhere! We’ll continue on long after the series is a memory, and thank you all for being here with us!

Who are the Americans…?

myimaginedairybeard asked:

A Burglary at Baker Street chapter 16: “Put him in with the other Americans, I suppose.” in other Americans he referred to Oz but not to Jake, right? Since in Sad Oscar au Jacob was already “bought”. So who’s the other American? Is it the girl from the sneak peek? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Also, are these monsters the same ones that the Weechesters were sent to (like in Brothers Discovered)? Because in one of the BD fanarts you can see the mark, though it doesn’t fit the description..

Good catches!

Sam and Dean are not marked in Brothers Consulted. One of the major differences between those two AUs is that in BC, Sam and Dean escaped their captors very quickly when they arrived in London, before they were ‘processed.’ In BD, days became months before they were able to escape, which is why it is nearing winter when they’re discovered. They’ll forever be branded in that AU.

I can confirm that Oscar is not one of ‘the Americans.’ At this point in Consulted he is likely getting caught over in America, before he’s shipped overseas.

The black market for borrowers is more expansive than we’ve seen.

We’ll just have to wait and see who those Americans are!

myimaginedairybeard asked:

Bonus – will Oz ever meet the kitten from the consulted shorts? (stricken sneezes)

It’s impossible to know at this time if Oscar will ever meet the kitten, but I can promise that Moira is very good friends with that flat’s cat, and she goes to visit whenever she can!

She just has to make sure Dean is nowhere close.

Jack Kline

shadowhunterhufflepuff asked:

Will Jack Kline show up in any of the stories?

He’s not going to show up in any of the BA stories, but he might always show up in a short story if I get inspired. I occasionally do off-the-wall stories like Walk Talland A Ghost from the Past that are set in the later seasons of Supernatural, so it’s never totally off the table.

And honestly, this bean is just such a cutie. I love when he’s in episodes. Wee nephilim baby, learning from those crazy hunters!

It’s just that Brothers Apart is a huge stretch from where Jack shows up in the series that I don’t really know how I’d make that come about, he’d have to be in a story not related to the early seasons the way BA is.

Side effects of Celeste’s curse

anonymous asked:

What happens to people who are on medication when they are cursed?

Well, it depends on what they’re on medication for!

Celeste is, despite her current disguise, an archangel. Her grace has healing powers much stronger than what Castiel shows in Supernatural. The last thing she wants is any of her little experiments to get sick and die.

The curse sends a victim into a coma for a week because their body has to adjust to its new size. Part of that is any illnesses they had will be cured. This doesn’t extend to any disabilities. Anyone that’s blind or deaf will remain blind or deaf. Mental health issues are not affected by the curse either. Infections can be deadly at that size as well.

However, sicknesses as deadly as cancer and asthma will be healed. Borrowers live naturally long and robust lives (barring any accidents), and they very rarely get sick because of the Grace inside of them. It keeps away illnesses.

Hope this answers your question!

Emotional Manipulation

anonymous asked:

So there are borrowers who can read others’ emotions, but could a borrower potentially exert their own influence on others’ feelings? Like, say a borrower encounters a disgruntled bean—they’d be able to take the edge off of their anger with a knack? 🙂

Absolutely!

This style knack is not only possible, we have a few characters that will show up with it!

If Chase is ever one of the cursed children, this would be his knack!

Emotional manipulation: The ability to influence the emotions around him, with no need for physical contact. A way for Chase to keep the peace among whichever group he’s in, or, if he can manage to get close enough, make a human tired or inattentive enough to escape notice.

Another character, who remains unrevealed as he has not appeared in any posted stories and no one has guessed his knack, will have a similar ability, weaker in some ways and stronger in others. While Chase can manipulate from a distance, this person needs physical contact, but they are also strong enough, if they focus, to also affect borrowers. It’s very rare that borrowers can affect each other, because the angel Grace in them also gives them a buffer against outside manipulation.

Since I had left Chase, Minnie and Bobby Loran off of the knack masterpost, I have since added them and their knacks to it!

I’m kinda curious, what would happen if Dean met Bowman before he was reunited with Sam? Would he shoot first and ask questions later? Or would he still realize that Bowman is a person and attempt to be gentle?

Dean often does shoot first, ask questions later. In this situation, though, Bowman’s a small enough threat that if Dean finds him, he’ll probably just grab the small and bitchy green leafy thing to find out what it is, and they’d end up sassing back and forth for ten years before getting anywhere useful (without Sam or Jacob, there is no one to break the circle of doom those two can get stuck in).

Dean might be a hunter, but he prefers to think through a case when it doesn’t make sense, and considering the worst this leafy green guy did was bite him, it doesn’t look as though he’s out here, slinging magic and turning wolves against campers. They’d have a very awkward relationship, but they might manage it!

Bowman would definitely make things interesting for him. The little guy hides his fears with yet more snark, so it wouldn’t be immediately obvious that he’s freaked out by this human wandering around with guns and huge blasted knives, grabbing the fastest sprite in Wellwood out of the air. Dean would get quite a tirade of sprite swears shouted at him, in between Bowman trying to kick him and bite him.

As soon as he gets out of the jar, he swears he’s gonna bop that giant into submission.

thepoisonlily asked:

Does (human) Dean ever buy a kindle or nook for (little) Sam so he can finally read books for fun again or does Sam just use the computer?

Dean hasn’t thought of it, and Sam doesn’t know they exist yet.

Kindles didn’t really become ‘mainstream’ until 2007, and it was a few years after that where they really became popular. Brothers Apart, like Supernatural, starts in 2005, so Dean still has a flip phone during the first few years, and they’re operating on a bulky laptop that he’s had for quite some time.

Sam does take the time to look up books on the computer when he can, and he’s gotten half decent at not getting stuck in books if they start to flip closed on him (Dean’s had to rescue him more than once during research).

It’s just around 2007 as Brothers Apart enters season 3, which is where we left off during the season finale.

So random idea. Have u ever read this fanfic called Inverse Operations? Where Sam is the older brother and Dean the younger brother? I was thinking it would be kinda cool to see a version of Brothers Apart based on that

I have not.

I do enjoy fanfiction from time to time, but I tend to stay in the g/t niche a lot of the time (when I can find the stuff, that’s another problem on its own). There’s also not a lot of time in the day anymore where I can sit down and read a good story.

Age swaps are fun, but officially I prefer to keep certain parts of the Supernatural universe intact. Sam and Dean are always brothers, Dean the older and Sammy the younger… However, for a case or two it’s something that would be fun to play around with, just like how the series de-aged Dean for an episode and Sam had to deal with his teenager ‘older’ brother, who was no longer of drinking age but still had all his memories intact.

I do briefly touch on this kind of idea in my canon-style fic Don’t You Cry No More, where Dean ends up younger than Sam through a very unfortunate situation, read at your own risk, and we have… plans… in the Brothers Apart multiverse…

Jacob and Sam by @mogadeer

myimaginedairybeard asked:

In Brothers Sought, does Dean finding out about the curse has anything to do with Bobby knowing of smols?

If only it did!

Bobby still continues to hide their existence from the hunters he deals with, including Dean and his dad. Dean discovers of Jacob in a completely unrelated fashion.

Jacob wishes Bobby had been the one to tell him. If Bobby knew the idea Dean got in his head from all this, he’d whack him upside the head.
