The Eye of the Beholder
“Stop moving already!” Sam sighs,
exasperated. “And quit blinking!”“You try holding still when
someone’s poking your eye with their fingers.” Dean mutters and
squints at Sam.“Hey. You asked me to help.
Now quit moving, blinking, and talking.” A loud sigh escapes the
mouth near his feet and Sam can feel the warm air through his shoes.
June 4th excerpt:
“Where do you think you’re going?” With one hand, Dean blocked Jacob from jumping off while his other hand typed in his login information. A standard username and an overused password, input without Dean even needing to lift his chin from the tabletop.

So, ah… I had a dream last night. In this dream, @brothersapart posted an excerpt that included both smol Dean and tol Dean. I did my best to capture the experience.
(Dream @nightmares06 refused to tell me what AU this was from, but did reveal that it’s definitely not the AU Lounge. Also, it’s more of a friendly seeking, a game of hide-and-seek.)

It’s tough to say how strong Jacob really is, but it’s certain that he far outstrips either brother (at smol scale). They wouldn’t be able to lift up a vase like he did during his bumpy first encounter with Dean, that’s for sure.
He would definitely be up for testing that upper limit, though, so if Sherlock makes sure not to look too much like a scientist about it, Jacob would be game. He could bench BC Dean for a warm up, though, which would probably offend so much. How dare, kid.

Just one of these stories might have won on their own, but together they make a perfect storyline of fun for Sam and Dean as they travel through both body-swapping shenanigans followed up by a visit to their friend Oscar’s motel, where a certain dragon from Dragon!Dean is still scared of heights makes his first (and hopefully not last!) visit to the Brothers Apart multiverse! All these stories are accentuated by the artwork done for them by wolfie as well, and so they take the gold! A must-read for any BA fan.
Tumblr Winners
Another story that brings the brothers on a journey, Winchesters’ Travels visits one of my favorite settings in g/t history with a modern upgrade! Dean gets to be Gulliver while Sam finally fits in, and these two will find their way through a politically demonic mess to help the kingdom of Lilliput before they’re sent to war with their neighbors.
This was a ride from start to finish! When Dean wakes up with Sam missing, and Sam wakes up in a completely unknown place, things get tense and Sam will be fighting to stay alive from the get-go! With a very diverse group of characters, I hope to learn more about them in the future :3
Deviantart Winners
The first entry with a giant AU (with prior approval from @nightmares06), this story definitely won me over! Dean is a giant that Sam’s on the hunt for, and they have no idea who the other person is as they circle each other.
The final winner I get to choose picked a different route. We’ve got some brotherly fluff to close out my picks, and a moment Sam and Dean certainly won’t ever talk about again– but they’ll remember it to the end of their days!

June 3rd excerpt:
Watching the computer boot up for a second or two, Jacob shoved his hands into his pockets and glanced over the expanse of the table. For the moment, that was how far the world went for him. He didn’t have any way to climb down, and it was well-established that Dean wouldn’t be letting him on the floor.
At least the attention was off him for a moment. Jacob, assuming he was off the hook while Dean worked, wandered towards the nearest edge of the table, looking out over the room at the gargantuan furniture and faraway walls.
Unfortunately for Jacob, that wasn’t what Dean had in mind for him.
A shadow fell over his body as two fingers pinched his hoodie between them. He was hauled off his feet and brought over to the laptop, dangling over the keyboard for a few seconds before being unceremoniously dropped down between the trackpad and the keyboard. He pitched forward and caught himself on his hands, noting that the plastic was already getting warmer from the machine at work within the casing.
Bowman Lost Excerpt
Wherever he was, he wasn’t in the forest. The forest was behind him now. Bowman’s heart pounded and a new wave of fear and despair surged through him. “It’s not too late to let me out,” he said. “Please, giant. Let me out of here.”
The giant snorted. “ ‘Giant?’ I’m not the big one here, little guy. I’m just a human. Not even that tall a’ one. You’re the one who’s Tinkerbell-sized.”
Bowman shook his head. “I don’t know what that is. You keep throwing out weird words and not listening to me! ”
“I’m listening,” the giant ‘human’ replied. “And I’m telling you that you should chill.”
Oh man. The regular Deans would be laying bets on which one can track the hidden pie down first.
Brothers Lost Dean has his ability and uses it, but he’s only driven to use it when he’s in need. It’s not something he has actively sought to hone (yet!).
Brothers Consulted Dean has just revealed to Sherlock Holmes, of all people, that he not only can track down shoelaces, he can find anything he puts his mind to. There’s a good chance that Sherlock will leap at that opportunity.
Brothers Saved Dean is going to grow up with Sam at his side. He’s not going to need to use it anywhere near as often, so it won’t be a skill he has trained for use until he realizes it’s real potential, setting him behind the others who grew up with the threat of starvation without it.
My money’s on BC Dean dominating.
He’s probably not sharing the pie, guys.
