To-Do List

So that I don’t lose track of planned updates to this site, I’m creating a to do list here!

If there’s anything not on the list that you might want to see in the future, please leave a comment or send me a message, and I’ll see what I can do to add it at a future date.

Planned updates:

  • Adding the new fanfictions from the 2019 contest to the Fanfiction page.
  • Create a post for A Burglary at Baker Street on WordPress, which was overlooked when that story posted.
  • Possibly create posts for the previous contests, so all entries can be seen in one place.

There’s a possibility that story excerpts will be returning, but they won’t be daily and will depend on if @nightmares06 has free time available coming up. Nothing is set in stone just yet.

The survey for the next story to post will be starting later today (7/25/19), so keep an eye open for that link to post!

Cursed as an adult

thepoisonlily asked:

It’s entirely possible that you’ve answered this before, but I was wondering what it might be like if Celeste’s curse was used on one of the adult brothers? I know they wouldn’t get the knack that the cursed children get, but how else might that experience differ?

I might have, but I don’t remember when, so I don’t mind answering again!

As the curse is perfectly viable on adults, it’s naturally possible that this could happen in the future. Celeste just chooses to use it on children because of the added bonuses that they get from growing up with angelic grace inside of them.

Though an adult might not get as strong of a knack, they do still have the grace and a faint one will still develop. It won’t grow as strong as though they were raised from childhood like that, but it’s still there. Knacks manifest in people directly cursed more often than borrowers born and raised.

Adults also won’t get much of a strength bonus, and they’ll have very weak nightvision in comparison.

The only exception to this is when Celeste first began her experiments. She cursed adults and children alike, and because she didn’t know the exact ratio of what she should use, the adults got a far stronger injection of grace and all exhibited powerful knacks of their own– the first of the borrower race, and the hardiest survivors.

I actually was writing out a bit of that first discovery, but haven’t had the time to complete it or fix it up, so have a look:

Adriana bolted upright with a gasp, her long dark hair swaying in the breeze as she instinctively knocked the ant away with an arm.

An ant that was larger than her hand.

The creature recovered in the dirt, its mandibles clacking as the antennae quivered in the air. Adriana faced off with it, staring with dark eyes at the creature that should not exist.

And then she shrieked as the rest of her senses caught up with her mind, and were overwhelmed.

Falling to the ground, she brushed at her arms, her legs, her face, trying to shove away the foreign feeling that something was there, crawling all over her. Invasive, it infected her veins, her skin, the tiny hairs on the back of her neck. Confining, controlling, touching at her magic and pulling her mind in a thousand different directions.

Adriana screamed, but no one was there to help her.

There’s No Place Like Home sneak peek

Story arrives 6/30/19 at 9pm! Posting every Sunday and Wednesday at 9pm EST

The newly-minted team of hunters runs into some downtime between cases. Sam and Dean Winchester, cursed to live at a fraction of their original height, agree to a new trip with Jacob; this time on the road home to reassure his mom he’s still alive and kicking.

An uninvited guest throws this family reunion into a mess, and suddenly Jacob’s left alone to piece together what happened…

Bobby Loran quirked an eyebrow at the monstrous car parked outside of Jacob’s house. The black and chrome classic sparked envy in him, and he found himself wondering who was driving that around. He doubted it was Jacob’s stepdad, and his mom probably never would.

It was equally hard to believe that Jacob would end up with such a nice car, considering the less than glamorous line of work he’d taken up.

Not that Bobby would judge his old friend for it. Jacob had never been afraid of hard work. Bobby hadn’t had a chance to hang out with Jacob in a long time, but as soon as he heard the big guy was back in town, he paid the little house a visit. The tiny front lawn was immaculate as always, showing off Mariana’s care for the landscaping. Despite having a smaller home, she took the advice from magazines to heart.

Bobby traipsed up the lawn to knock on the door, glad to be in the shade of the house after the walk there. There was a shuffling of shoes on hardwood floors before the door opened and Mariana answered. Bobby offered her a smile; anyone who knew Jacob knew that his mother was one of the sweetest people on the planet.

“Hey, Mrs. Andris,” he greeted her. “I hear Jacob’s back in town?”

She bobbed her head and her curls bounced with the motion. “You hear right, Bobby, but our timing’s off. I sent him into the city with my car to run some errands for me. You’re welcome to come inside and wait for him, though; I doubt he’ll be gone too much longer.”

“Thank you, ma’am, I might just do that,” he replied, stepping into the house.

“Good to see you again, hon,” Mariana said, closing the door before opening her arms for a hug.

Bobby chuckled and let the petite woman embrace him. “Yeah,” he replied.

Once Mariana took her leave to return to whatever she’d been bustling about doing (she always had a project going on when she wasn’t at one of her jobs), Bobby trudged up the stairs, tired footsteps landing a little heavier than might usually happen. He’d visited enough times to know exactly where Jacob’s room was, and he didn’t even look up from the phone he’d retrieved from his pocket to check for texts until he’d already thrown the door open and walked in.

Destiel question (2)

ray7and13-blog-blog asked:

Do you think you’d ever be open to introducing Cas and if so do you ship Destiel?

I, personally, am a non-shipper, but I don’t mind anyone who wants to ship the characters in my stories with other characters!

As for Castiel, he actually already is in the stories!

If you check out Brothers Apart, Castiel appears in Brothers Apart 14: Bittersweet Parting. I don’t recommend reading it without catching up with the other stories, as it directly ties into the events that happen throughout the second season.

You can find a full list of the stories here if you needed the link.

Castiel will be seen more in Brothers Apart and a few other BA AUs, but he isn’t a majorly featured character, as these stories are focused more on the Winchesters. His part in the story is very important, but brief.

Folktales of the BA Borrowers/Littles

thepoisonlily  asked:

Do the Littles have any of their own fairytales or lore? I mean, I know that humans are basically their bogeyman (one that they know for a fact exists and they live in fear of), but is there anything else for them? Any myths or legends?

(This one took a little while!)

They generally don’t, but that’s more a part of their origin/upbringing than anything else.

  • Each borrower community is formed independent of the others, especially in different countries. Some may have their own beliefs, I will focus on the American and London borrowers that are a focus in the story.
  • The first borrowers were from a very religious town in past-England, and though they held onto their beliefs for a long time, their survival depended on a witch who was one of the last surviving bloodlines of the ancient druids. Without her they wouldn’t have survived, so their beliefs were replaced by a belief and trust in nature.
  • Many London borrowers are descended from that original borrower town, where they threw out their old beliefs.
  • American borrowers are fewer and further between, so they focus on survival above all else. There is no time for prayer between the tasks they carry out to keep on living.
  • The fact that they are no longer religious doesn’t mean they don’t believe in the supernatural. Most of them would take a supernatural being’s existence in stride, as they do all things.

They do have local legends and tales at times, depending on where they’re from. Sam and Dean would interview the borrowers much like humans (without Dean taking any part in it, since he would just scare them off).

There are many tales around one area with the borrowers who keep going missing from their homes after visits from a certain company

Pool Time

anonymous asked:

Now that summer is here, would BA Sam and Dean ever want to go swimming in a pool (with no one else there, of course)? I can imagine that’d be a bit scary for Sam but with Dean there it could be fun!

The moment Dean finds out that Sam can’t really swim (he hasn’t had a chance to practice since he was 10…), he’ll insist on starting small… like a sink. That way his little brother doesn’t go sinking to the bottom of the pool the second he gets in.

If they go swimming in a pool, they just have to make sure no one else is around to see the surprise borrower guest!

Destiel question

jayadawnyvonne asked:

An idea/question Do u ship destiel ? Because what if tiny dean/ or big dean finds a smol cass in the walls with sam ?? Instead of cass being an angel ?

Well, personally I don’t really ship any of the major ships on Supernatural, and I tend to avoid posts on them for the most part. You won’t see any ships featured directly in the Brothers Apart series, but of course feel free to interpret the characters however you choose.

WITH THAT SAID, I do know this amazing little fic where Castiel lives in the walls of a motel with his family and encounters the Winchesters… I highly recommend it! It’s angsty and fluffy, and one of my favorite g/t fics that I discovered on Archive of Our Own.

Go check out Little Angels by besully (Briar_Elwood)

Six-inch tall Castiel lives his life collecting trinkets from the residents of Paradise Motel, quietly sneaking in and out, never being seen. One morning he’s almost seen by two new residents: Sam and Dean Winchester who are checking out a supposed haunting at the motel. Turns out, they’re not really after a ghost….

Castiel even has his wings!

Size Difference in Relationships

anonymous asked:

hi I’ve been a big fan of yours ever since I read your stories while you were still in the midst of posting Taken though it’s been more on the stories side and it’s only recently I’ve started reading through everything here so I don’t know if you’ve answered this before, but would you ever write a story where a borrower and a human are in a relationship? could be platonic romance or whatever you feel like but I’m just wondering

It’s so good to hear from you! Good luck going through our tumblr– it’s gotten a bit messy, but there’s a looooooot of stuff here for future stories/snippets/sneak peeks, along with tons of musing and prompts/asks. And all the wonderful arts :3 Not to mention the asks we get in, which are tons of fun answering.

As for relationships. Admittedly, all three writers for the BA multiverse are ace, so we don’t often delve too far in. That said, there are a few relationships that will be shown prominently in the story, and at least one or two will happen with the two people at different sizes!

Stan and Nate are one of our major couples, and being soulmates, they always tend to find their way to each other in the end. Yet with a few storylines we have plotted out, they don’t start or end up at the same size all the time!

Nate’s not going to let a little thing like size keep him from stealing a kiss!

As for same-size relationships, Dean’s had a fling in Brothers Lost with a borrower he encountered on a hunt, and in the last season of Brothers Apart, Sam will also be finding himself some love!

There’s plenty to look forward to 😉
