We’re so glad you’re enjoying them! Having the brothers in the Wellwood has to be one of our favorite parts, and of course now Bowman is getting himself in trouble by startling a hunter. Dean is ready for attack, and not expecting a sprite to make such a sound from behind him!
Bobby will appear a lot in the stories! In fact, he will most certainly be an important character in Brothers Lost, and he’ll be appearing again in Brothers Apart. Rumsfeld, of course, will be showing up as well.
Nixie’s eyes darted from sprite to sprite, searching for the one in charge.
Dean drew Sam close to his chest, green eyes wide at the sight of the blue, protective barrier that wrapped around them in an orb and separated them both from the fiery blaze. Glimmering blue droplets hit the brothers with light splashes, helping to soothe the burns they’d acquired in the time they’d been under assault. Nixie did what she could, but none of the water was from a fresh spring, cutting down her ability to heal to almost nothing.
Before she could discover which fire sprite was controlling the rest, one separated from the swift whirlwind of sprites. Red eyes glittering, the sultry young sprite glared at she who was interfering. “Nixie. This is interference. You must stop.” She drifted over to the barrier, brushing her fingers against it. “You are bound as we all are to not interfere with other sprites. You must submit to me. My purpose is primary.”
“Ilyana!” Nixie said, her voice full of natural command as she beheld her youngest sister. “You must cease this attack. These humans are the ones that stopped our dark brother at their own peril. They have earned our thanks, not our anger.” She drew herself up in the air, hanging motionless with her wings spread. With the amount of magic she was channeling she had no need to flap her wings to remain suspended in midair.
She gave Ilyana her most confident stare. “I do not attack, and I do not submit. I stand in your way, sister.”
For anyone accessing @brothersapart from a standard web browser, there are a few improvements to it. Links at the top now include the table of contents for both Brothers Apart and Brothers Together, along with a special page for prompts and a special page for sneak peeks!
The other AUs will receive pages of their own as they are released, so keep watch!
John may appear again in the stories. He’s most likely to pop up in Brothers Apart. His role in that story isn’t done yet, and the brothers still have a lot to say to him after everything that happened.
—For anyone interested in John, he isn’t my best character for writing, so he will only rarely appear.
Well, for personal preference I don’t normally do that size variation. Of course, it might come up in the future, since there’s no way to know where inspiration will take us. And of course, in the horror story, Jacob is going to be about that scale compared to Sam and Bowman, making them his mini-giants.
From 6′5″ to Sam’s teddy!
He brushed against Sam’s arm when he was shifting in place under the green canopy. With a mumble, Sam rolled a little closer, his arm landing over Jacob’s small body. Jacob flinched in surprise from the sudden appearance of an arm longer than his body. It was only a moment before Sam shifted again, pulling the small hunter closer by instinct as soon as the shivers that wracked his body were noticed even in the depths of sleep.
Sam buried his head next to Jacob under the blankets, effectively pinning him to his chest the way one would a teddy bear at night. His grip was gentle, keeping away from the injuries that the tiny hunter was nursing. Sam gave a brief mumble of contentment before he fully drifted into sleep again.
Jacob’s surprised squirming was practically nonexistent thanks to exhaustion. If he were at his full strength, Jacob may have been able to squirm away. As it was, warmth that was all too hard to retain at his size was a welcome feeling. He settled with a weary sigh, knowing this was a battle he simply didn’t have the energy to fight. Sam’s heartbeat thumped steadily right behind his head, with him nestled right next to the hunter’s chest. It was a backdrop to him drifting off again, slipping back into a deep sleep.
Dean let complete sincerity saturate his words, his green gaze warm and steady. This was something he wished he could have said a long, long time ago, when he’d first found Sam that fateful day, trying to hide from him in a motel room, smaller than a mouse. “Walt… I just wanted to thank you for what you did. Saving Sam all those years ago, even risking your own lives to do it. You and the others… you never have anything to fear from me. You have my word. Sam’s family is my family. Size be dammed.”
This is the type of thing that all depends on the type of fabric we’re talking about. You can take the kind of shirt I’m wearing and see right through it if you put your eye directly to it. That’s because for the most part girls wear a much thinner fabric than guys do. Now if you look at what the Winchesters wear, you’ll notice that it’s multi-layered shirts that are thick, flannel, dark fabric and the jackets as well will be bulky and stiff comparatively. So Sam might be able to see out of some of Dean’s shirts, but there’s no way he’s going to see out of them constantly.
Unless he feels like cutting himself a hole in the fabric. Then he’ll be seeing regardless.
