Aaa, thanks! It’s great to hear that someone’s enjoying our alternate storyline for Lich! So similar in some ways and so different in others.

As stated in the notes of the story, Brothers Found came about directly after A Lich of Sense was completed, when we were bouncing around story ideas and doing ‘mini-rps’ in Skype that we’d just randomly scrap and start anew.
When this one began to take form more than the others, and gave birth to the idea of the horror story, instead of scrapping it, redoing probably over a hundred thousand words and losing all momentum for the horror story, we simply moved the rp from Skype to google docs for editing, and cleaned it up.
(That was! A lot of hard work! Don’t use Skype for rps!)
Brothers Found = Brothers Apart if Jacob came into it first. No more, no less. Until we stumbled over the idea for the horror story and the story grew into its own. And remember– this AU was the first we created and you have these stories to thank for all the others that came after.
So enjoy the nuggets. We never promised this was anything else.
Extra bitty Jacob definitely notices the chill once or twice. His body holds less heat and his clothes are thinner than even Sam’s. In the end, he has to stick close to the others if he wants to retain any body heat. Sam and Bowman might not produce as much warmth as a human can, but they do manage better than wee Jake.
Besides, Jacob lives up to his reputation as a teddy. Hugs from a mini-giant are sure to keep such a bitty guy warm.

The posts that list the horror story as the third part were posted before the short story After the Hunt was written on a whim, changing the numbering of the stories. So #jiw is officially the fourth story of Brothers Found, so long as we don’t add in any other short stories.
The numbering of any stories is subject to change up and until the stories are posted! Sorry for the confusion!
Bothering Bowman Sneak Peek!
Bowman Leafwing would scoff at the idea of ‘giants’ out there in the forest, but after a run-in with Sam Winchester and his larger hunting buddies, he’ll have a hard time denying their existence.
To a sprite, ‘bigger’ usually meant ‘predator.’ Bowman, as low as he was on the food chain, wanted to be anywhere but caught in the watchful gaze of two giants.
He frowned and tried to wrench his arm free, but wasn’t nearly strong enough. He should have known better than to reveal himself. The stranger latched onto his arm may be sprite-sized, but he must be some kind of whatever the giants were.
Maybe he was just one of their young.
Bowman desperately spread his wings and fluttered them loudly, buffeting his current captor with the leafy appendages.
“Hey, wait!” Sam tried to yell as he almost got knocked down from the wind currents. “I just wanna know what you are!”
That was all either of them had time for. Dean’s hand dropped from the sky, closing around them both in an attempt to save Sam from his attacker. Sam found himself in a fleshy enclosure, rising through the air next to the struggling winged man as Dean stood to look at what he’d caught. “This is all your fault,” Sam griped at the winged man, trying to get himself unsquished. Dean’s ring was digging into his side.
Bowman heard nothing through the white noise of his terror. He was caught by a giant of all things, his wings squashed awkwardly in the biggest fist he’d ever seen. It shouldn’t be possible to be so large.
Jacob leaned in closer too, to get a better look at whatever Dean had in his hand with Sam. It was struggling as much as it could, those bright little eyes ablaze with panic. “Dude,” he whispered, noticing the wings as they twitched desperately.
“Ah, look out!” Jacob warned, but he was too late. The new creature leaned forward and bit Dean’s hand.
“Ow!” Dean said, cursing angrily. His fist sprang open reflexively from the bite, releasing the strange winged creature and Sam.
Sam.
Who plummeted.
A bit of backstory for Brothers Found: This is actually the first AU we ever worked on, after A Lich of Sense was completed! Initially, it was all done by skype RP. The first and second stories started out that way, then for the horror story we switched to a better RP system so we didn’t lose any details.
The first story was then rewritten the same way, but the second– Bothering Bowman– remained in its skype RP form. Forgive any formatting errors that might have snuck past us, this is the one and only story we’ll post that was done in skype. It was too much of a hassle in the end.

According to the timeline I was thinking of, Bowman would be about 20. Putting Jacob at 18 or 19. My characters are younger than the bros, and though Bowman doesn’t really care about age at all, it leads to a dynamic with Jacob looking up to the Winchesters (no matter what size everyone is).
This is my entry for the context @brothersapart is running.
Here we have the AU Lounge, where the characters from six AUs are currently hanging out together: Brothers Found, Brothers Adopted, Brothers Asunder, Brothers Lost, Brothers Consulted, and the Giant Jacob Story (technically not a BAAU, but who could resist the huge dork?).
On Giant Jacob’s shoulder is “his” Sam, and their Dean is the one leaning against the wall. Brothers Lost Jacob is chatting with his Giant self, while Brothers Asunder Jacob is with the Deans from Brothers Adopted and Brothers Found, “his” Bowman flying around him. Brothers Adopted Sam and Jacob are on their Dean’s shoulders, and Brothers Found Sam is on his Dean’s head, feeling tall. Brothers Found Bowman is flying near Giant Jacob’s head. His own Jacob is extra little at the moment, and he’s not sure which extreme is weirder.
Meanwhile, Sherlock is perched thoughtfully on the one couch, and John has found tea and biscuits, which he is sharing with Oscar (from Brothers Adopted) and the littlest Jacob (from Brothers Found). Brothers Lost Sam and Dean are hiding under John’s table. The Brothers Consulted are around somewhere, though not visible, as is Spritely Sam from Brothers Asunder (he’s probably trying to find some plants – the Bowmans keep complaining about all the corners).
You bet! The horror story will be the third story in the Brothers Found verse! It’s gonna be a ride and a half for poor extra smol Jake!
There’s multiple tiny!Jacob’s, but if you mean the story with the extra smol Jacob, it’s our horror story! We have excerpts posting for it now, and it’ll be appearing in the poll before long. Check out all the past posts about it:
