That would depend a lot on what the shenanigans were that Gabriel was up to, honestly. The snarky, smarmy archangel is probably up to trouble, and trouble of his type can really cause problems when you’re four inches or less.

Dean would probably be offended, because somehow I feel like the joke would end up being on him in BA. In BL… it’s hard to say. The series is still young.

I think that the strong feelings is what I gravitate towards, and I’m always thrilled to know that others share the feelings with us. You can really find out a lot about a character when they’ve gone through the fire, emotionally.

For the disadvantages, you’ll want to keep reading the story. Sure, Sam’s got a better grip on climbing and may inch Dean out with strength, but strength isn’t everything in a fight. And Dean has a few advantages on Sam when it comes to interaction with Jacob that’ll be touched on before the end of the story.

If Sam and Dean’s positions were reversed, Sam would be able to do just as little to help Dean. Jacob has all the physical power in this AU. Either brother is helpless if they get trapped in a coffee pot.

@nightmares06

Oh, is that what nightmares prefers? I had no idea.

Truthfully, I like both brothers equally. “All these new stories with tiny Dean” amount to one AU out of … six? Seven if you count BA. Only one of them includes Dean being tiny in the premise. The main reason we have so many ideas for it is the novelty of having both brothers small instead of only one. It adds a different level of interaction between the brothers and anyone else around, and adds variety to the AUs. Spice of life, which is why it’s so fun to do every once and a while.

I’m pretty sure that Dean will disagree with you about him having all the disadvantages compared to Sam, but you’ll just have to read on. And his height disadvantage to Sam is tiny. Even full sized, Dean is over six feet tall and Sam is six foot four. Both of them are taller than the average.

Plus, currently no one is driving the Impala. I’m betting if they do get her up and running, driver beware if they don’t listen to Dean.

@neonthewrite

From my end, writing these stories with smol Dean has been a blast. Jacob may be super fun to write as the small one, but at the end of the day he was written to be a gentle giant. I think smol Dean (with the smol Sam that he will protect to the end) is a great counter to Jacob’s character.

And, like you said, tiny Dean is fresh. A lot of stuff goes with a small Sam, which we all love, of course, but there’s not a ton of tiny Dean material out there. Considering we had ideas for 6 stories all one after the other (we didn’t stop with Brothers Lost for a month or two there), it’s clear there’s things to explore that simply don’t come up when Dean is tall! Sure, he’s got some extra challenges now, but he’s a little fiery ball of determination and trust me when I say that he at no point lets it keep him down for long.

Dean’s the boss. He sure won’t let anyone forget it. 🙂

The brothers – To keep it interesting, I’d say Sam ends up swapping into Jacob, and Dean into Sam! That makes Jacob the shortest of the group, and poor Sam, who has the least experience being full-sized, finds himself too tall! He might not even get as far as discovering how strong he is now considering how nervous he’d be around the two really tiny guys. While Dean’s just complaining about how long Sam’s hair is and it gets in his eyes and how can you deal with this Sam.

Jacob – Jacob would be super weirded out to see how big everything is. He’d also have to concede that, yes, he very much does seem to stomp around and cause earthquakes. He’d have to hope the Sam-swapped-Dean was able to get over the shock enough to look after him, because he doesn’t have the skills like the brothers do for surviving that smol!

XD He would be so offended at first, and wouldn’t have any quarters on him if the kid was determined to swap teeth for money. What a gruff little guy to have as a tooth fairy, almost as silly as the tooth fairy Jesse Turner dreamt up. Hopefully the kid doesn’t want to see him fly, as he is not only flightless but has a phobia of heights. He’ll have to talk his way out of this one.

Dean, the smooooth talker.
