The Road to Nowhere reveal

THERE’S BOTH??

(In response to this post)

There’s BOTH! The season finale for Brothers Lost will be a RIDE!

And this isn’t even like, half of what’s going on in the story

Dean forced open the pocket, snaking two fingers in to pry out the people in there. His plan went awry when a bolt of pain struck. “OW!”

Snatching his hand back, Dean stared at the thin trail of blood leaking from a cut that hadn’t been there moments before. “Son of a…”

“Dean!” Sam snapped. “It’s just a cut.”

Nodding, Dean went back, this time moving too fast for an attack, and yanking the occupants of Jacob’s pocket out.

In a sprawl of arms and legs, the small pair that had been hiding inside landed on Dean’s palm. A glint of metal flashed, and Dean pinned the tiny knife between two fingers, aiming to avoid anymore retaliatory strikes at his fingers.

The guy that wielded the knife didn’t let it go without a fight. Squirming to free himself from the pile with the second, he clung to the hilt with a death-grip.

“Get fucked!” he shouted, digging his heels into the cushion of skin on Dean’s palm.

Dean stared.

The guy hanging onto the knife might as well be his doppelganger.

Jeans, boots, leather jacket and duffel bag, the guy couldn’t be more than four inches in height. Taller than both of the others they’d found earlier, what stood out the most was his spike of blond hair and the scowl on his face that was a mirror of Dean’s own.

The tiny mirror of Dean had such a strong grip on the knife hilt that he was dragged into the air when Dean tried to twist it away from him. The second person, who Dean shouldn’t have been so surprised to see the fluffy dark hair and familiar hazel eyes of his younger brother on, dove for the first guy’s legs, grabbing on and trying to lend weight to the tug-of-war between the two.

Sam’s voice broke the spell that had fallen over Dean.

“What. The hell.”

December 5th excerpt:

“Oh?” Sam said blandly. "Are you sure you weren’t imagining these ‘other sprites?’ I know people like me are easy to mistake… I’ve heard house elves, gnomes, borrowers… sprites is a new one…”

He received a flat look in return. “I didn’t know what the fuck you were,” Logan assured him. “Still don’t. But you’re not a sprite, that’s for damn sure.”

October 11th excerpt:

Just an inch or two later, Jacob had to pause as his hands cramped up from clinging so tightly to the string. His knuckles were white from the strain, and he stared at them ruefully. After a second’s break, he tried descending just a little more, hand over hand. When trying to get his grip on the next section of string, he couldn’t hold tightly enough before he slid, no more than a half inch.

It was enough for the friction burn to sting, and Jacob grimaced. “Fuckdammit!”

June 10th excerpt:

Jacob tried to slip into the pocket like he’d done before. He wasn’t used to the perspective. There was a broad chest like a wall in front of him, and Jacob already heard the heartbeat plodding away and powering the much bigger person’s body. Jacob’s heartbeat was faster, and so much weaker, and he still hadn’t been able to avoid the intimidation that always crept up his back like a chill.

When he let himself scoot off of the hand, he had farther to fall than he expected. He missed grabbing the edge of the pocket, and instead fell to the bottom in a heap. “Fuckdammit,” he complained, squirming to right himself.

February 24th excerpt:

“Goddammit! ” he bellowed.

He twisted around to turn his glare on Dean instead. “Look what you’ve done now,” he hissed. He shoved at Dean’s shoulders. One leg tried to kick at Dean’s ribs. It fell short and foliage on the ground stirred from the violent motion.

“Fucking let go, you maniac!” A backhanded swing aimed for Dean’s head.

This is mostly personal preference, but also combined with how their characters react to the sizes, and staying in character with Dean at all times.

I personally love the protective older brother dynamic from the television show, no matter how many times Sam proves he’s a badass (Sam Fucking Winchester, ladies and gents, don’t mess), Dean always goes all out to help his little brother. It’s a hard dynamic to achieve when Dean’s the size of Sam’s finger, and it makes staying in character as Dean more difficult, though I’ve had some success with Cursed Dean. Having both brothers tiny is also a favorite of mine, so you’ll see more of that for sure.

We’ve bounced around ideas for tiny Dean and big Sam, but nothing in the immediate future.

Tiny has the unfortunate (or fortunate) timing of being on a giant’s stomach when they start laughing

big-fluffy-dragon-deactivated20:

Wouldn’t it be cute if a tiny was just sitting on a giants tum while they tell them a joke, it’s not even that good but all of the sudden the giant bursts out into a huge rumbling belly laugh!

The tiny thinks it feels like some sort of seismic quake as they bounce up suddenly, letting out a little yelp of shock- but after a bit it becomes quite fun, like a bouncy castle and soon they’re both laughing even more!

( I can’t resist putting this out there since we’ve got this exact tumbly scenario in a future story :3)

Dean leaned back against the pillow and dropped Jacob down on his chest so they could watch TV together. The warm light of the television soon bathed the room in a familiar light.

Jacob was winded as he landed, dazed. Of course, he still wasn’t used to how quickly Dean moved at all, so he could hardly register the few seconds between being scooped up again and falling with a gasp from Dean’s hand.

The surface he landed on rose and fell, and there was a familiar pulse thudding away beneath him. Jacob pushed himself up to hands and knees abruptly, staring down in befuddlement at the black fabric of the t-shirt Dean had donned just minutes before. Jacob could feel minor muscle twitches as the chest rhythmically shifted to accommodate lungs that emptied and filled themselves over and over.

“What the hell,” he muttered, completely nonplussed as he tried to at least move himself to a seated position. But the slope and the unfamiliar terrain combined so that Jacob leaned to the side and lost his balance, falling over once again. The TV was ignored as he frowned and made another attempt.

Dean was distracted from the TV as well the moment he felt Jacob tumble down his chest. A smile started to form on his face at the sight of how off-balance the kid was. He chuckled. “You’re like one of those weeble wobbles they used to sell when I was little.” The sight of Jacob tumbling more made him laugh even harder. “Man, I wish I knew about this last night. I could have used a good laugh.”

Jacob felt like he was on a trampoline, with someone else jumping. The surface underneath him now shook up and down a lot faster, causing him to tumble this way and that, or land in a heap only to have the ground disappear again. He couldn’t focus on one thing before he was shaken again and facing something else, so it was little surprise that his scowl could never be aimed at Dean directly.

He was winded with one particular tumble, and it dazed him enough to roll a few inches before he could stop himself. He managed to get a grasp on the fabric of Dean’s shirt, despite the movement all around, and the noise that drowned out everything else. He lost his grip with one hand and scrambled to regain it before the other hand slipped, too.

Jacob wasn’t quick enough. He slipped farther until he was on a softer surface. Dean’s belly shook even more and left him even dizzier. “F-f-fuck y-you,” he managed to stutter out in retort, his arms still flailing for purchase on the shirt to try and halt some of the tumbling.

Dean snorted in response. “You should see your face!” He couldn’t stop the laughter, unavoidably shaking the surface that Jacob was trying to sit up on. Dean had to brush tears from his eyes, muffled chortles still escaping him. “Man, I haven’t laughed like that since I was a kid.”

Taking slight pity on the kid, he pinched Jacob’s hoodie in an attempt to haul him to his feet. With the way Dean’s belly wouldn’t stop shaking from suppressed laughter, it didn’t do either of them much good, but he did manage to catch Jacob’s balance with two fingers and prop him slightly up. “Who needs TV while there’s live entertainment right here?”
