Sneak Peek

Coming soon!

Out in the natural beauty of the Sylvan Lake State Park, a camper’s gone missing and is presumed dead at the same time as rumors about a honest to god giant appearing in the forest to stalk hikers and hunters crop up. Sam and Dean will need to unravel the mystery and keep their wits about them to solve this case.

By silent agreement, both brothers crept forward, keeping an eye on the strange sights around them. Dean hopped into a deep depression in the ground, almost slipping on a hidden mudbank. Sam glanced to the side and saw that a tiny stream trickled through the underbrush.

It ended at the depression, and as Sam looked behind them, it restarted. Sam grabbed Dean’s jacket, hauling him out and pointing. Dean sucked in a gasp, spotting the familiar mark of a gigantic boot in the soft ground.

Crap.

“C’mon, let’s go.”

This time, Dean took point as they edged to the clearing. Once they got there, Dean froze again in disbelief.

“Bigger guns my ass,” he said weakly, reaching behind his jacket to pull out his colt. “We might need the damn military.

The boots that made the huge print in the ground were planted in the earth across the clearing, weighed down by their truly colossal owner. Even crouched, the creature loomed well overhead, and some of the smaller trees in the forest would be cast in that shadow.

The giant, if it stood, would reach a lofty 120 feet, at least.

Its dirty clothes were worn and those car-sized boots caked in enough mud that entire small tree branches could be seen stuck to the side of the huge sole. One light step for the monster would prove devastating to either brother, and the giant might never even know it had successfully taken out a hunter.

Massive lungs hidden within that muscular torso drew in and released breaths, the source of the breeze Sam heard. The trees nearest the giant all waved their branches from the air.

Before more of a plan could be made or more details assessed, that breathing paused, and the giant lifted its huge head. As if in slow motion, it turned to look over its shoulder for the source of the disturbance in whatever it was doing. One of its massive hands came into view and braced against one bent knee, and it was a startling realization to note that each finger was the size of a person.

The brothers were outsized by fingers.

Then, the face angled towards them, and eyes the size of their heads locked on them.

Announcement!

Once the story excerpts finish up for the current story (ws), we will be switching tracks for a bit!

Don’t worry, it’s still supernatural gt, but we’ve latched onto a new idea. So, for the first time in ages, we will be writing a non Brothers Apart story. All Supernatural, all Gt, totally different idea.

The story is a collab between @nightmares06 and @neonthewrite. The story excerpts will come from that story until it is finished being written.

If you want to try giving it a guess, feel free! I’m sure I can scrounge up a sneak peek if anyone guesses the premise!

Anything goes!

June 17th excerpt:

Jacob sought his revenge by reaching over to nudge Dean in the side, getting the little hunter to jolt and put his arms up like he was raring for a brawl. Jacob drew his hand back well before any retaliation could be taken against it, but it was the only retribution he needed.

June 10th excerpt:

“Trust me, this is a thousand times better than climbing a table,” Dean groused as he followed next. His fear of heights didn’t bother him at all here. The bed was much lower to the ground and didn’t have the disorienting fact of open air on all sides to unnerve him.

“All it takes is some practice!” Sam called up, starting to climb down faster. “Beds or tables, we’ve gotta be ready for anything!”

Dean swore under his breath. “All those times fighting with Walt and now you’re starting to sound just like him.”

“Hey, he had a point, y’know!”

June 9th excerpt:

Jacob reached up with his other hand, over to the popcorn bowl where Dean made valiant efforts to avoid falling further in. Before he could sink into the popcorn and become even more irate, Jacob’s fingers dove in after him and closed around his tiny waist. In no time at all, he fished the tiny, flailing hunter out of the popcorn.

Jacob was still grinning once Dean was free. “Didja find a good piece?”

Dean sent Jacob his most intimidating glare. Dangling from two thick fingers, with a kernel of popcorn still clutched to his chest, the effect was ruined. Dean gave a kick with his right leg, jostling a piece of popcorn that insisted on clinging to his jeans free.

June 6th excerpt:

Dean made a beeline for the pie. “You can have all the fries you want. This pie is mine.

Sam grinned as he started to piece together a mimic of Jacob’s chicken sandwich, trying to get all of the vegetables down to a reasonable size. “It’s not like you can even finish that slice of pie,” he pointed out dryly.

“Hey!” Dean sent him an offended glare as he leaned over and sliced off the end of the pie. It was carefully balanced on the tip of his knife. “One day I’ll finish an entire pie without anyone’s help, and you’ll be wishin’ you had your own.”

June 4th excerpt:

“Okay,” Jacob spoke softly, already adopting a mindset towards being as quiet as he could. “What should the plan be once they point out the right trailer?” he asked, glancing in the mirror to meet Sam’s gaze before looking down at his pocket. He brushed his fingertips just barely over the small form slumped within. “Got a plan?”

Lulled to a half-sleep inside the pocket interior, Dean gave a slight jolt when huge fingers brushed against his side. The voice rumbled overhead, reminding him where he was just then. Not at home, safely hidden away in the walls. Their friend was lost and in trouble, and they needed to find him.

With wobbly knees, Dean stood with one hand against each side of the pocket to stay standing. The thick threads made it easy to hang on and hold himself up, and he shoved the pocket flap out of his way to see where they were.
