February 15th excerpt:

When the hand opened up around Dean, he found himself falling straight down.

He let out a cry of alarm, memories of the four foot drop he’d been dangled over slamming into him all over again. His arms thrown out to either side, he felt his fingers brush against fabric as he fell.

Fabric…?

February 14th excerpt:

Dean tried to lash out with the boot that was being examined, wishing he could reach the guy’s face and hit him in the eye. Let him know what it felt like. If their positions were reversed, Dean wouldn’t put him in a pocket. A damn cage sounded like just the place for the human.

“Didn’t your mother ever teach you manners?” Dean snapped.

“All hands is not the way to woo a girl.”

February 13th excerpt:

“What the hell do you think we are?” Dean growled up at the human towering over them. This guy certainly had looming down. The Winchesters were both tense and prepared, ready to act the second they saw an opening. Sam didn’t need a hook or thread to climb down from most surfaces, though shimmying down was much more dangerous. Desperate times.

“Do I look like fucking Tinkerbell?”

February 12th excerpt:

Dean shoved Sam in the opposite direction. “Now!” he shouted.

Sam would know what to do.

In unison, the two brothers tossed themselves forward with their knives. Almost at the same time, twin silver blades cut into the hands, one on each side. They needed to get the hands out of their way. If they couldn’t manage that, they wouldn’t have a ghost of a chance at escaping.

Oh, these brothers wouldn’t even know where to start if they switched places. Everything is suddenly small for Sam, and Dean won’t expect all the towering heights he’s surrounded with. They really aren’t prepared to walk in each other’s shoes, and Dean’s fear of heights would do him no favors. Sam won’t know his own strength at all, and he’s going to have an unnaturally fragile Dean around to watch out for.

It’s going to be part of one of the AU’s we already have under construction. This was actually a story we came up with not long after we finished writing A Lich of Sense, and right around when we realized there was no reason to stop writing stories together.

  • Dean is big, so it’s not a part of Brothers Lost.
  • Brothers Asunder hasn’t started yet, so it’s not a part of that series.
  • Jacob is not (yet?) a part of Brothers Together. (Though he and Oscar would be so adorable. The tallest guy with the smolest smol)

Which AU it’s in will remain a secret, but it is actually the third story in that AU! And, it’s the longest, angstiest, most terrifying story we’ve ever come up with. It’s also in the middle of being edited, so it’s not ready for upload.

Remember, it’s going to be up to a vote which story comes after A Lich of Sense stops posting, so even we don’t know when it’ll post!

My gosh yes. His glare is hard to take for Sam, imagine having that glare leveled at you when you’re only a little bigger than one of his eyes! Jacob will need nerves of steel in this story, that’s for sure. Dean is close to 300 feet tall by comparison, a huge leap from the ~117 feet tall he is next to Sam.

… Jacob is a dot. (x)

February 9th excerpt:

Dean held his face expressionless as he listened to Jacob’s words, checking out his own cards. For him, it was a more involved process. Sam stood half an inch higher than the cards, but Dean wasn’t even a third of an inch taller. They were lightweight, but bulky in his hands. The thick, coated paper was coarse as he lifted it, spotting the red letters that told him his card.

Dropping that card down, he lifted up the second. “Maybe that’ll have to be your incentive,” he told Jacob dryly. “You’ll have to come to us if you want to do your laundry.”
