The BA’s won’t have the sensing thing as completely as the BL’s. Their little knacks come from the curse Celeste put over them (a little bonus for losing their size, something to increase their survival chances). BA Dean might be a little jealous that his tiny counterpart can track down pretty much anything if he figures out that he needs it.

The BA bros teamwork won’t be as seamless as the BL bros because they spent half of their lives separated while the BL bros have never been apart. The BL bros are also a lot more dependent on each other because of this, and stress more if they need to separate for long periods of time. Jacob will notice this if he only has one brother around.

XD BL Sam certainly has keeping Dean in line a lot easier than BA Sam. He can haul Dean around all he wants while BA Sam has to figure out how to keep his giant of a brother calm (or rile him up more).

They have their Deans cheat codes.

June 8th excerpt:

To no one’s surprise, Dean walked onto Jacob’s hand first, his cocky, bow-legged saunter apparent to all as he crossed over Jacob’s wrist. There was something that was always so strange to see in a guy smaller than a finger being so confident around a giant like Jacob.

Before he joined Dean, Sam was sure to gather up his bag again, holding his cup cautiously so the beer didn’t splash over the rim. He’d never hear the end of that one from Dean. A travesty. That was what Dean would call it if any of the precious amber liquid was lost.

Ahaha. Well that all depends on if BL Dean has his baby or not. Jacob’s Mercury is nice, but it just isn’t the same as the Impala. Sam will suffer through an old rock binge either way. But with the Deans…

BA Dean is probably going to chase Jacob off since he’s like 6′5″ and who the hell does this kid think he is. Meanwhile BL Dean is all puffed up and offended that anyone is ordering his Jacob around, doesn’t Dean know they’re working on training him? Jacob’s in the corner watching BA Dean curiously poke the tiny version of himself, wondering about how tiny he is, while Jacob’s shaking his head going “I wouldn’t do that if I were you…”

“OW! Sonovabitch…”

And everyone just stopping when they find out that tiny Dean decided to take matters into his own hands to dissuade the pokes just like he did when Jacob caught him and now Jacob has to separate those two or at least get his tiny Dean off the table…

Cue tiny Dean bitching at big Dean from a shoulder and that’s where they get to “My human’s bigger than your human…” and suddenly tiny Dean is a lot like a squirrel. He’d even throw stuff from there if he could to get his point across.

Sams are just sitting back and watching the show, and if anyone mixes up their Sam, they’ll let them know. There are differences between the two that Jacob will probably pick up on. Sam in BL doesn’t have his human older brother to help him out with figuring out humans, so he’s a lot more shy. Dean might not notice this as fast since he’s offended that the little version of him just used a knife on his finger. How dare XD

Eventually they’ll all settle down and yep. Pie. Tiny Dean would be jealous big Dean can eat an entire pie in one sitting. At least they can agree on liking pie.

What everyone should really worry about is if the Deans decide to start working together….

June 6th excerpt:

Dean made a beeline for the pie. “You can have all the fries you want. This pie is mine.

Sam grinned as he started to piece together a mimic of Jacob’s chicken sandwich, trying to get all of the vegetables down to a reasonable size. “It’s not like you can even finish that slice of pie,” he pointed out dryly.

“Hey!” Dean sent him an offended glare as he leaned over and sliced off the end of the pie. It was carefully balanced on the tip of his knife. “One day I’ll finish an entire pie without anyone’s help, and you’ll be wishin’ you had your own.”

June 4th excerpt:

“Okay,” Jacob spoke softly, already adopting a mindset towards being as quiet as he could. “What should the plan be once they point out the right trailer?” he asked, glancing in the mirror to meet Sam’s gaze before looking down at his pocket. He brushed his fingertips just barely over the small form slumped within. “Got a plan?”

Lulled to a half-sleep inside the pocket interior, Dean gave a slight jolt when huge fingers brushed against his side. The voice rumbled overhead, reminding him where he was just then. Not at home, safely hidden away in the walls. Their friend was lost and in trouble, and they needed to find him.

With wobbly knees, Dean stood with one hand against each side of the pocket to stay standing. The thick threads made it easy to hang on and hold himself up, and he shoved the pocket flap out of his way to see where they were.

I have a feeling those little guys would end up with pie, but they’d get out of the room as fast as possible regardless. It’s dangerous to be around any humans, and they might seem friendly, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

None of that would stop Dean from coming back to their room later on and demanding an explanation for all of it. How do they know about little people like him? Do they plan on trying to find anyone else in the motel?

He’d want to make sure the others at the motel weren’t in any danger before letting his guard down.

You can count canon Jacob in with the friendly humans too. Bowman has bopped those lessons into his head many times. We’ll just have to see if Sam and Dean do the same with Jacob the drifter.

June 2nd excerpt:

Sam grabbed onto Dean’s wrist. “It’s not working, is it?” he demanded in a hush out of habit. When Dean didn’t respond, he yanked the hand away. His eyes blew wide. “Dean!”

Dean’s brow was furrowed in pain instead of concentration, and a trail of blood ran down his face from his nose. Sam grabbed onto his shoulders and shook him to break his concentration.

Blinking his eyes open, Dean groaned, slumping into Sam’s arms. Both brothers fell to their knees in Jacob’s hand when Dean sent them both off balance. “If you think it’s so easy, you do it! I don’t see a handbook lying around that’s all about how our Wonder Twin powers activate!”

June 1st excerpt:

“Jacob, you need to get back to that room as fast as you can,” all spilled out of Sam’s mouth the second he started talking, like a dam bursting. “There’s two guys that went in there and they grabbed the others and we think they’re leaving but we don’t know because we couldn’t go after them we’re too small.”

Oh, dear. Poor Jacob, and his tumbly nature! We’ll just have to wait and find out. I can’t imagine the scolding he’d get if he caused an earthquake in the room, lol.

As for chapter length, I must point out that with the development of my writing style has some changes to how chapters are set up. I gravitate towards suspense and anxiety, therefore we’ve gone from chapters that were usually ~3k to 4k words to chapters that can vary from ~1.5k to 5k words. With three updates a week, this shouldn’t be a problem. And there will be times that the word count goes under!

Because word count should never drive how a story is set up. The writing itself should do that.
