Oscar’s Dad

anonymous asked:

Super random question but who is Oscar’s dad? Just wondering.

Oscar’s dad … is a mystery, at least to him. He never met the man, and his mom didn’t get a chance to tell him very much about him either.

The families that live on the other side of the Knight’s Inn motel knew about him, though, and that’s part of the reason Oscar’s mom kept her distance from the others. The guy traveled with humans, after all, and should not have been trusted, according to them.

Who’s your favorite?

anonymous  asked:

Who is your favourite character?

It’s impossible to choose! I can’t even pick a favorite Winchester; I love them both for different reasons!

Since it’s pretty obvious I love my supernatural characters, since I’m always writing them, I’ll just touch on the OCs that come to mind:

Jacob is an absolute sweetheart, he reminds me so much of my own husband. Tol and gentle, very hard to piss off. He needs a few bops, but always takes scoldings from the smols to heart (once he figures out they’re not joking around with him during initial encounters).

Oscar is just such a wee bean, he needs all the food and hugs and mousies there are. Give him a sandwich and some pie, stat. And as mild as he is, he still pulls through for them, the bravest lil guy around.

Walt was such a surprise of a character, considering initial plans were that he didn’t survive the first story. Here he is, telling off giants in multiple AUs, and being the best borrower dad around.

Stan’s such great fun. He and Dean were just meant to be best friends from the start. I’m looking forward to sharing more stories with him in them!

Chase is an absolute spaz 😉

Brothers United Sneak Peek

anonymous asked:

Can we please have another sneak peek of Brothers United. I read the first few and really loved it.

I can spare a small one for today, but this story is currently paused on writing, so we won’t be able to show much more of it without giving everything away!

Rest assured we have plenty of plans, but work and stress have been getting in the way of writing…

It seemed to be Oscar’s moment. Dean had given up on his homework, a few hastily scrawled answers in place to keep Sam happy, and he’d turned more towards the television than the table, so he missed Oscar’s furtive movements.

Sam, whom Dean considered too open and nice to be in the life they dealt with, continued blithely working on his homework, convinced Oscar wouldn’t want to leave on them, especially not without saying goodbye.

Oscar reached the edge of the table unhindered and breathed a sigh. With every quiet step, he anticipated the shadow of a hand falling over him to scoop him up. His nerves were frayed when he looked over the edge, but not from the heights. After being kept close by humans for almost 24 hours, he had a shot at escape.

He glanced back. Their attention was off him.

Who are the Americans…?

myimaginedairybeard asked:

A Burglary at Baker Street chapter 16: “Put him in with the other Americans, I suppose.” in other Americans he referred to Oz but not to Jake, right? Since in Sad Oscar au Jacob was already “bought”. So who’s the other American? Is it the girl from the sneak peek? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Also, are these monsters the same ones that the Weechesters were sent to (like in Brothers Discovered)? Because in one of the BD fanarts you can see the mark, though it doesn’t fit the description..

Good catches!

Sam and Dean are not marked in Brothers Consulted. One of the major differences between those two AUs is that in BC, Sam and Dean escaped their captors very quickly when they arrived in London, before they were ‘processed.’ In BD, days became months before they were able to escape, which is why it is nearing winter when they’re discovered. They’ll forever be branded in that AU.

I can confirm that Oscar is not one of ‘the Americans.’ At this point in Consulted he is likely getting caught over in America, before he’s shipped overseas.

The black market for borrowers is more expansive than we’ve seen.

We’ll just have to wait and see who those Americans are!

myimaginedairybeard asked:

Bonus – will Oz ever meet the kitten from the consulted shorts? (stricken sneezes)

It’s impossible to know at this time if Oscar will ever meet the kitten, but I can promise that Moira is very good friends with that flat’s cat, and she goes to visit whenever she can!

She just has to make sure Dean is nowhere close.

Touch Deprivation

anonymous asked:

Random ask here, but when a little is living with a human, even though I know they are technically touched or manhandled all the time, do they ever experience touch deprivation? I don’t know how even being held to a chest in a hug compares to someone the same size interacting with you and to what extent that would affect you…

Well, that’s probably going to depend on the exact little in question.

For instance, I hate touching. The fact that someone could pick me up and move me around at any time would bother the hell out of me, and I’d be twitchy from too much touching!

Some would likely yearn for same-size touch, wishing to find another of their kind. Especially if they’re in forced captivity, instead of the mutually supportive relationship like Sam and Dean have.

This actually came up in the Sad Oscar AU (aka Brothers Consulted). Oscar spent a long time with humans that could and would pick him up whenever they wanted, and it’s just not the same…

Oscar was so shocked by the sight of someone with such small features that he didn’t even flinch back from the sudden embrace. She was taller than him, but her thin frame was at his scale. No giant hands or looming faces to force him to go wherever they wanted. As it sank in, he shuddered with sheer relief and hid his eyes against her shoulder.

One frail arm returned the hug, but even Oscar’s earnest cling was timid and weak. The hand on his cane gripped it so tightly it shook.

Oscar had had no shortage of physical contact since his capture. From Noriko to Charlotte, no human had any qualms about grabbing him up in a relentless grasp, hugging him or simply carrying him around. He was no stranger to touch, and yet he might as well be touch starved.

“S-someone came,” he muttered, almost more to himself than to the stranger holding him now.

Is there ever going to be a story with both Sam and Dean normal size with a tiny?

We actually do have a few planned out in the BA multiverse!

Brothers Chosen will have canon Sam and Dean discovering cursed Stan Baker the captive of a he-witch they’re hunting, and will have to figure out what to do with this tiny ginger after the case is over.

There’s plans for Jacob to be besieged by the canon-sized Sam and Dean, though this idea is only in the planning stages currently, and may change wildly when we begin writing it.

Brothers United pairs tiny Oscar with the weechesters, and will have a very different outcome than Brothers Together did when they were kids… This will be a lot of canon bros growing up with tiny Oscar!

Outside of the BA Multiverse, there’s also Neon’s story Beggars Can’t be Choosers, which involves the Canon Winchesters finding none other than little Oscar in their motel room. It’s from the Angel and the Mouse AU, which began with Quiet as a Mouse (with Castiel, Angel of the Lord, finding Oscar).

myimaginedairybeard asked:

It kinda looks as if BC Dean is even MORE afraid of heights than the one in BL. Is this because of the airplane? I mean, we have bad Oscar had dealt with it in the Sad Oscar au (SAVE HIM °^°) speaking of oz, the Sad Oscar au was the first time/au Oz had used his Pyrokinesis knack (you once said that if he had a knack this would be it. And cooling off a burning hot metal seems to fit that title of fire power), so does that mean we’re going to see it soon enough in other aus as well?

@nightmares06

Oh wow, this ask went in a few unexpected directions on its way to the end!

I’ll leave the Oscar stuff to neon 😉

Dean in Brothers Consulted is absolutely more afraid of heights and flying than his Lost or canon SPN counterparts. It went from a basic phobia to a full-fledged PTSD.

He’s coming to terms with hitching a ride on Sherlock’s shoulder, with the help of the scarf for support and to help hide the surroundings, but he’s not good when it comes to getting picked up and lifted without warning.

Given time, he’ll get through those reactions, but planes. PLANES. He’s never going to be able to ride an airplane without a full-blown panic reaction, hyperventilating and losing sight of if he’s with friends or enemies.

That plane ride happened when they were kids, they were trapped in a box, the entire world rattled around them for a full 10 hours before disembarking in a place where Dean had never been. Any fear of heights he ever had amped up several levels higher.

The saddest part is Dean wouldn’t fully realize this until he’s on a plane and it turns on, because it’s triggered by the sounds more than the sights.

@neonwrite

I am so pleased that you noticed that detail! It wasn’t a very obvious moment, but you are correct that Oscar’s pyrokinesis knack activated in the Sad Oscar AU when he was being branded (which is why even he didn’t realize it – he was far too busy being upset and terrified and in pain). Now that we know Sad Oscar AU is actually Brothers Consulted, we might just see how he eventually further develops that ability! 😉 Dean’s gonna be so jealous.

As for other AUs, I’m always looking for opportunities to give him a reason for his knack to appear. Since he was born a wee borrower, it will only show up if he has a true need for it, and a need for the ability to manipulate fire doesn’t come along often. But don’t think we’re above stressing the little guy out with some fire someday!

Unnamed Sad Oscar AU guessed!

myimaginedairybeard asked:

Does the unnamed Sad Oscar AU takes place in Brothers Consulted?

Oh gosh. You’re the first person to guess that!

The unnamed Sad Oscar AU is indeed secretly a part of Brothers Consulted. At some point during the writing of it, my cowriters couldn’t stand it any longer, and through nudges and some Upset conversations, it was decided that he needed a rescue in Brothers Consulted. So that “The End?” on the last installment was a red herring! It’s not truly the end of the Sad Oscar AU. Everything after that, well, it involves a Plot from Brothers Consulted that you will all have to wait and see (luckily it got voted in as the next story, so you’ll get closer to being able to guess the answer).

Of course, with BC and Oscar that means he will have to meet the Baker Street crew someday. One thing we have planned for that is an encounter with Sherlock in which the detective, predictably, runs his mouth. He’s going to learn that Oscar’s no “typical” borrower:

“W-well, I can be scared if I want to! I’ve had to do everything by myself since I was seven while all you humans did was take and take, a-and then someone took me and … I’m not a doll, I’m Oscar, and I’ll be nervous around humans all I want!”

The words had barely left his mouth before Oscar’s indignant look transformed into shock. The quietest squeak escaped him and he ducked behind the nearest hiding place he could find. That happened to be Dean.

myimaginedairybeard asked:

In Brothers Chosen, how would other borrowers react to the trio? Oz? Jake? Imagine Sam and Dean trying to calm down one after catching them, trying to convince them they’re not going to hurt them or keep them as pets… Stan make it a little harder though. P.S. I noticed that Stan and Arthur look really similar- fire red hair, really pale, green eyes. But that’s just a coincidence, right…?

@borrowedtimeandspace–

xD This is actually the second time one of my character designs has been compared to one of @nightmares06‘s characters, and I swear it’s not a conscious thing. Stan Baker’s character was designed somewhat on a whim since he was never meant to be fully developed at first. Any resemblance between Stan and Arthur is purely coincidence!

@nightmares06

Stan would actually also fit into the 1997 The Borrowers movie with that bright red hair and freckles!

@neonthebright

Oscar would be nervous about the three of them right off the bat, but that isn’t very different from how he usually is around new people. He’d be trying to run away from Sam and Dean the best he could, and then he would be very very confused about Stan. Then, once the confusion wore off a little, he would practically cling to the other smol for some comfort in the face of that Winchester Intensity. They loom without trying.

Jacob would be weirded out by Stan, but it would also make him pause enough to listen. So long as he doesn’t manage a good jab with his iron nail, I think it’d be easy to smooth over any misunderstandings (which is kinda rare when Dean and Jacob are up against each other, tbh).
