How many sprites (lets say the knights) would be necessary to win against the brothers in a tug of war? With and without use of wings allowed? Or just one?? (no point in mentioning Jacob, they’d probably need the whole village just to challenge his hand)

Well, lets see.

If smol Jacob can lift about 40x his weight, I’d say a regular borrower averages 10 to 15x. The brothers, being determined to keep physically fit, are likely around the 12 to 13x range. Once they get better nutrition, they’ll easily hit around 17 or 18x their weight in strength, if not more.

Really, the questions is: how long does it take the sprites to realize they should just start flying and lift the brothers off the ground so they can’t get any traction?

With wings, they’d just go with that route. Lift up the brothers while Jacob watches, unable to hide his snickering (Dean will get revenge on him, somehow). At least they’re good at dangling from a rope.

If they weren’t allowed to use wings except maybe to balance themselves, it probably wouldn’t take much for the brothers to knock several knights over, one by one. Sprites aren’t nearly as strong as one of the brothers. Poor guys would dig their heels in the best they could though. Then maybe have a few sparring matches with pine needle swords to make up for it.

(thanks to @torchmlp for the reference of smol Jacob’s strength)

What about the brothers giving the sprites a good climbing display in Brothers Grounded? Maybe because Bowman made some stupid remark about how they’d have trouble getting around, or simply doesn’t believe it’s possible for wingless small folk to even survive without them? Also I absolutely imagine Dean having a fight with a squirrel over food and royally kicking its ass. Or Sam exploring the cottonwood tree at night without any lights ~Sassy (P.S: I’m over the moon you using my name suggestion)

It’s a great name! Those poor grounded brothers, they’ve never even been able to fly! How can they live like that?

I’m sure Sam is going to shock and awe the sprites when he climbs 😉 He’s confident in his skills and doesn’t mind showing off a time or two, while Dean won’t let anyone make fun of his skills. He might not be the best at heights, but he knows a thing or two.

Dean would totally rock that squirrel.

The sprites would be so amazed at how Sam can see in the dark! How is that even possible!

There’s a lot about these strange sprite-sized humans to be amazed about. They’re wingless, and yet that doesn’t stop them from reaching the tops of the trees if they wanted. Though they can’t get energy from the sun, so they’d better have a snack before they try an adventure like that.

Brothers Grounded can have Jacob take them to Wellswood!

They’re on their way!

“We should scout the area before it gets dark,” Dean said, getting up and stretching. “Make sure we find a safe home for the night.”

“Right,” Jacob muttered, a more subdued smile on his face. Regardless of how much trust he’d managed to bargain for himself, the two of them would need some space to themselves. Fascinated or not, he couldn’t deny them that.

“Just keep yourselves outta trouble,” he joked, reaching out to nudge Dean in the side before he was done stretching. As before, he drew his hand back quickly to avoid the retribution that he was sure the little guy would offer. “Gotta be ready for a bit of a hike tomorrow.”

Dean recoiled in surprise, his face falling into a flat expression at the playful gesture. He threw up his arms in frustration at how quick the teenager could move, faster than he could react to. “Well unless the village is a few feet in, I think you’ll be doin’ most of the hikin’, Godzilla,” he retorted in annoyance, his Midwestern drawl thickening.

Sam tried to hide a snicker behind a hand, entertained by the innocent interactions between the pair. He hadn’t been bored once since they met Jacob. “So how far in the forest is the village, anyway?” he asked.

Contest submission by @birvan! Here we have Sam’s bed and the crib Jacob got stuck in (along with an extra-smol bed for extra-smol Jacob that I’ll be sending to @neonthebright for her teddy)

I just had to get a picture of Sam with his bed (disclaimer: Sam here is a half inch too tol to be the Sam for my stories, but it’s close! He’s even got his research books ready to go)

March 29th excerpt:

Unable to reach the edge of the palm before it rose, Dean found himself curling into a ball around Sam as the ground dropped away. Then stopped. Pulse pounding, Dean blinked his eyes open in confusion as the hand paused in place.

Done with arguing with the giant, Dean shifted towards the edge of his hand, intent on getting down and getting away.

March 28th excerpt:

Dean pushed himself back from John with his free hand, trying to inch backwards from the man and put some space between them. That is, until he ran up against the hand cupped behind and flinched away again.

“We don’t want your help,” Dean protested, clinging to Sam. “People can’t be trusted, what makes you any different?”

March 22nd excerpt:

Holding his breath, Sam had to peek behind his seat to see where it had run, and his eyes widened.

No mouse had ever worn clothing or reached out with tiny hands to grab at forgotten candy on the floor.

Sam scrambled to his feet. “W-wait!” he called out.

March 19th excerpt:

John didn’t want the brothers near this werewolf, as it was prone to stalking playgrounds and school houses in Silverthorne. A good name for a werewolf’s funeral, Dean had managed to get in before their father left them behind.

He was still convinced it was a good joke, even if John didn’t laugh. Their dad almost never laughed.

“I’m heading out,” Dean called to Sam, pushing the blinds open so he could peek through the window.
