May 3rd excerpt:

Sam put a hand on the edge of the crib. “I dunno. You think I outta kid-proof the room first? Someone might be looking out for you, putting you away like this.”

Jacob’s expression flattened and he pursed his lips. He almost couldn’t fault Sam for finding it funny. The joke was just lying there in wait. Staring up at the smirk that had so casually moved in on Sam’s face, Jacob had to roll his eyes even as his cheeks turned pink.

Winchester sass. Figures. Definitely brothers.

December 29th excerpt:

“You’re too short,” Sam grumbled, leaning more of his weight on Dean than he wanted to.

“Not my fault you’re a Sasquatch!” Dean snipped. Compared to everyone else, the Winchesters were the tallest people in the room that weren’t humans, but Sam still managed to tower over him.

August 24th excerpt:

“I’ll take a coffee, black, with a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich,” Dean ordered at the drive-thru window. His voice was still gruff from waking up and not grabbing a drink.

Sam was sitting down on the seat, calmly watching everything that went on around him with a steady eye. From there, he couldn’t be seen from the drive-thru window, and there were no walkways nearby for a passerby to peek in at him. He could have a few minutes where he was sitting on the seat just like anyone else did.

A shadow moved overhead and Sam craned his neck back. He watched as Dean steadily turned the wheel directly above, angling them out of the drive-thru. The car shifted to a faster speed, and Sam latched a hand onto the seam of Dean’s pants. As silly as it was, it was better than going flying with the car moving around. Dean wouldn’t be able to grab him in time.

June 27th excerpt:

“You sick son of a bitch, let us go!” Dean snapped, trying to cover up his fear that any second now, they’d be shoved into the massive mouth that hung above them. His blood chilled at the sight, realizing they were small enough to fit inside without a problem. It was almost impossible to focus on anything else, especially not after he caught a glimpse of the white rocks inside. Teeth. Teeth big enough to cut either brother in half, snap them like a twig.

He distantly wished they’d left a message with Bobby to let him know what they were hunting. If they vanished like this, all he would have to find of them was an abandoned Impala. That was, if the police didn’t get to her first.

“Wait!” Sam shouted. “If you do this you’ll regret it!”

March 1st excerpt:

The Winchesters will raise questions if anyone sees them and realizes who they are.

There was a click, then a dial tone filled the air. Dean stomped on the END button with his boot, for once having nothing to say to the last statement. Even Sam was quiet where he was sitting on the edge of the laptop.

Jacob pursed his lips, letting Bobby’s words sink in. He hadn’t considered other humans, especially hunters, finding out about Sam and Dean if they went to Bobby’s again.
